At the Conservative Party Conference, during his key not speech UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that he would give a free vote in Parliament to automatically raise the age of sale of cigarettes each year.

It would mean that children turning 14 or younger this year can never legally be sold cigarettes in their lifetime.

The aim being to create a smoke-free generation although they are not changing restrictions on vaping.

John Dicey Global CEO and Senior Facilitator at Allen Carr’s Easyway comments:

“It’s a bold move but given most 14 year olds in the UK already have tragically easy access to cocaine, ketamine, cannabis, and booze it’ll be interesting to see how effective it is.

Let’s not lose focus on helping adults to quit smoking & vaping. Allen Carr’s Easyway to quit smoking live group seminars have been approved by NICE who say it should be offered to all smokers as a drug-free alternative to pharmacological programs.”
