In an interview with the Joe Rogan on 10 January 2025 Mel Gibson discusses how Allen Carr’s Easyway to Quit Smoking worked “like crazy”.

He says that he was a smoker for 45 years and he son had given him Allen Carr’s Easyway to Quit Smoking many year ago which he kept on his bookshelf. He kept walking past it but, when his doctor told him he had first-stage emphysema, he decided to read the book and immediately quitted.

He recalls:
“I smoked for 45 years and I couldn’t quit. I read this silly book by Allen Carr. He wrote this book, and it was the only thing that made me quit. It worked like crazy. The book was called The Easy Way to Quit Smoking, and it had a silly title. My son gave it to me. I used to walk past the bookshelf and think, Dumb book, dumb title, but then finally, my doctor said I had first-stage emphysema.

“So, I read it and I quitted. It was, I think, like neurolinguistic programming or something like that— you read it and kind of self-hypnotize yourself. But it worked.”

We are delighted to hear his story and hope it encourages others to freedom.
