It hit me like a rock: I was getting ‘sweet FA’ from smoking!

It was fabulous to read how Deputy Features Editor & journalist, Paisley Gilmour, quit smoking with Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking.

Paisley wrote her story of quitting smoking for ‘The Debrief’. It’s actually three years since she quit but she looks back on her life as a smoker and her final and successful attempt to quit using Allen Carr’s Easyway. She describes how despite an “unfounded but avowed hatred” of self-help books she eventually sat down and read Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking after it was gifted to her by her mother (who incidentally used to call her ‘Fag Ash Lil’).

Paisley goes on to describe her transformation from understandable sceptic to complete freedom “I sat down one morning to read it, muttering under my breath that it was a complete waste of my incredibly precious time, and didn’t look up until the evening when I’d devoured the entire thing. Instantly, I knew I’d never smoke again.”

It’s such as shame that such a heart-warming story of success using Allen Carr’s Easyway should also feature advice from a pharmacy “Stop-smoking Specialist” that is almost guaranteed to ensure that anyone following it fails to quit smoking. That aside it’s a great, sometimes irreverent, piece on one person’s escape to freedom and their gratitude for Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking.

Commenting on some of the products that the pharmacy specialist recommended Paisley is effusive “Some people bang on about e-cigs, patches, gum and all that b***ocks, but for me it had to be cold turkey. I just couldn’t get on board with replacing one dumb addiction with another.”

John Dicey, Worldwide CEO & Senior Therapist, Allen Carr’s Easyway agrees “It’s so fabulous to hear that Paisley became a happy non-smoker using Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking and there is no doubt that following advice from people like Lloyds Pharmacies and the NHS is completely counter-productive as it is entirely inconsistent with Allen Carr’s method. It’s essential that people using the method follow Allen’s instructions ‘to the letter’ and that means ignoring anything that conflicts with it. You really don’t need to use any nicotine patches, gum, or e-cigarettes and doing so will most likely ensure that you stay trapped rather than enjoy freedom as Paisley has.”

For anyone who feels that they’re never going to be able to stop smoking Paisley sums things up perfectly “If this Fag Ash Lil can do it, anyone can.”
