Please consider that you do not need our best wishes, because you are not giving anything up. You do not “need” a cigarette. Your body has everything it needs to function right now, and the cigarette actually messes that up. You have my best, however, on your wonderful new life as a non-smoker. If you only read the site, try reading the book. I’ve been quoting from it to myself all day. And it’s worked!!!

Today is my first day free of that poisonous weed. I can breathe, I’m not coughing up phlegm, I don’t smell badly, and my eyes and throat don’t burn. HURRAH!!

TO EVERYONE – Thanks for your posts. It’s helping me to read them!

I started again and smoked for another 5 years. 3 years ago I watched The Ellen Show and she told how she’d quit 6 months before with the help of this book. I bought it immediately, and it’s now been 3 years smoke-free! The best book I’ve ever read!!! Thank you.

I in reality parted with the nicotine dependence because of this remarkable method of Allen Carr!!! I was greatly upset when i learned that he is no longer living, such people they must live eternally!!!

Im Anna im 27 yrs old from Derby England . Ive smoked since I was about 16 and thought my life would never be enjoyable without cigarettes , this was confirmed when I tried stopping 5 yrs back , I used the “cold turkey” method , It was vile … I was so grumpy and irritable and felt utterly depressed , going out for drinks with friends was boring , nothing seemed worth doing , plus as a normal size 8 i piled on the pounds . After a year I gave in and became a secret smoker , this was the most stressful time ever , Id constantly be planning my next secret cig . After splitting with my ex I came clean and was again a full time smoker . A friend recommended this book so I thought it was worth a shot . Its been 10 days now since I smoked and have found it easy & enjoyable , Im not eating more than normal im less stressed an happy . I keep looking back over the book to understand what made it so easy , its as if ive been hypnotised and ive never smoked . I still cant quite explain to friends how i feel , its actualy freaked me out slightly that a book could be so powerful and do something that the NHS , as far as im concerned , have failed at . I almost dont dare say that im a non smoker or that i dont want a cigarette incase im just kidding myself but I dont want one and I am a non smoker and I am really really proud . Its the most liberating thing ive ever done and would recomend any smoker read the book , I am so grateful to Allen carr , had he not of wrote this book I would probably smoke for the rest of my life . Thank You xx

I’m sure I wrote to you guys years ago, but I just wanted to say I have not had a cigarette, or even a puff or anything, since August 3, 2003. This is 100% due to Allen Carr’s book. My brother and sister finally quit in 2007 (after failing with patches and gum), and I gave my beloved book to a mate who has been smoke-free for about 6 months now.

Thanks!!

After smoking for over 40 years I stopped, using Allens book, eighteen months ago after several abortive attempts using other methods. I also stopped drinking alcohol (which was destroying my life) with the sole aid of
Allen’s ‘Easyway to control alcohol’over three months ago and now KNOW I will never smoke tobacco or drink alcohol again.I cannot believe how easy it was to escape both traps and only wish I’d done it years ago. Thank you Allen from the bottom of my heart. Rest in peace. I will never forget you. Carole from the North West of England

I am from Belfast, Northern Ireland and I quit about 2 years ago with the EasyWay book and felt so happy and free. I never had any desire to smoke. I never had any sense of withdrawal or being deprived. I had no problem going out for a drink with friends while they were smoking around me, offering me cigarettes, whereas that was always my downfall when trying to quit before.

However, I got so comfortable being a non-smoker, that after a couple of years, while pretty drunk at a party, I thought I’d try one again, God knows why – maybe just for old times? Then of course, I was back buying 10 a day within a week or so.

Re-read EasyWay again and happy to say, I’ve been a non-smoker for nearly two weeks now. Of course there was no problem quitting this time and I’m going to keep the book somewhere handy so that I can reference it if I need to.

It is true though (and something to be very careful of) that people who find it very easy to stop can find it very easy to start again!

Oh Allen, it’s been 10 wonderful years since i gave up smoking with your method. Now i have all sorts of health problems in my lungs (brought on by 3 bouts of pneumonia last winter) but i know how much worse it would be if i was still smoking those stupid, smelly cigarettes.
The more i see our government pretend to help smokers to quit the more i am glad you lived and felt you had to tell the world. Only your way makes any logical sense. You have left a wonderful legacy….LIFE.
I will always love you and thank you for what you did for me and 9 of my friends who also happily quit using your method. We will never forget you. Love to Joyce.

After 23 years, I finally did it!
My only regret is that I didn’t find this book years ago. The best part is, it’s so easy. No withdrawls, no freakouts. To a smoker that almost seems impossible but it’s not.
It’s two weeks tomorrow that I quit and I never felt better. My energy levels returned, my complexion looks better, I feel like running around everywhere!
To any smoker reading this and still wondering, what do you have to loose? NOTHING. Even if you choose to continue to smoke, the knowledge and insight you will gain from reading this will only help you quit again in the future.
Stay smokefree everyone!! Cheers from Canada.

I wish I’d heard of this way earlier, because as it says on the tin IT REALLY WORKS!!!!!.The odd urge for a fag goes in 2 secs, and the sense of freedom and release I feel is fantastic. I shall pass the book on. Thank-you.

Sandra Smith said,

I read the book last March, but then got sick and then got busy…you know…any excuse to let the fear speak loudly. I didn’t get around to quitting then, but the words from the book played over and over in my head. Two weeks ago, we sat down and did up our budget…and realized exactly how much we spend on cigarettes. I was ashamed to say I had been telling my daughter “No you can’t have this, we can’t afford that” when we were spending almost $500/month on smokes. Ridiculous! So… just like that…I quit!
The first week was easy, the last couple days have been harder, so I re-read the final chapters of the book for inspiration. I know I am a non-smoker, and with the help of Allen Carr I am a Happy non-smoker!

Carol said,

I didn’t think I could do it, but I did. After 30 years of smoking and many half hearted quit attempts using the patch, the gum, and zyban, I stopped without anything except Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking Book. I am six days without feeding the nicotine monster and still feeling strong. My favourite chapter was “The benefits of Smoking” – looked at this numerous times. Thank you. I feel that I have the motivation and resolve to make this my last quit attempt. I am a non-smoker and it feels good!

Joann said,

Oct 24, 06:49 pm #

I waited because I wanted to make sure it really worked. I was very cynical about this book. A book? Kill my 2-pack a day habit? Ridiculous. Five years ago, I read Allen Carr’s book and I have not smoked since. I closed the cover of that book on the final page and that was it. It was not hard at all. I had quit once before in the past and it was terrible for me. This time I simply walked away from it – freed from the addiction. Five years after, I still have absolutely no desire.

Kim Jarrett said,

Oct 23, 11:34 pm #

I started smoking at 15 years age. I quit for 10 months once (5 or 6 years ago) but started again because I thought I was in control and could have “just one”… it surprised me to discover I was not, and upset me to think that I had lost control and was that weak. I was scared to try again.

Allen Carr’s book so clearly explained things for me… debunking the myths and exposing the (shocking, terrible, disgusting, nefarious) facts of nicotine addiction. It was the missing piece for me. This time I know I’m finished forever (had the last one yesterday) and I’m looking forward to celebrating my upcoming 35th birthday smoke free, and enjoying the rest of my life!

Thank you Allen Carr! Your time with us was not in vain, and your great work lives on.

Thanks, Allen! I finished your book last night and put out my last cigarette. I realized while reading that every other time I’ve considered stopping smoking, I was always saying, “I’m trying to quit.” How amazing the difference between that and “I have quit.” Words are so powerful. Change your thoughts, and you change your feelings and actions. I’ve known this forever. I just needed someone to remind me. Thank you, again!

I smoked 15-20 a day for over 18 years. I have 3 children and stopped smoking during each pregnancy, only to start again as soon as I could after each had been born.
Allen’s book was recommended to me by 3 people who had stopped smoking using his method. I read the book and can honestly say I have never felt better. I don’t ‘crave’ cigarettes and I certainly don’t feel like I am missing out by not smoking. A week before I ordered the book from the internet, I tried to give up using willpower and found I was constantly thinking about cigarettes. I lasted just over 24 hours. That’s when I ordered the book.
I urge everyone to try this method as it really works. I have passed the book on as have no doubt in my mind that it will work for my brother, sister and friends, who all smoke. I cannot wait for them to feel the same way I do, empowered and free!!!!!!
Thank you Allen Carr (RIP) and everyone who is carrying on his amazing work. I will be forever grateful.

Dear Allen Karr!
I do not find words that to pass feelings! I just finished reading your book, and I am absolutely happy now! When I read a book I realized that soon will come end to my smoking, but on a 80 page,
I felt the unbelievable wave of energy, I will not assert, but I think that it was the «Moment of truth» mentioned by you! I am ready not to smoke, and I think that always was ready to it! I am sure I will be able, even if will not get necessary support from circumferential, moreover, I am even ready to render support smoking circumferential, I know now, they needs it more!!!
I live in a bad country! Here children begin to smoke literally from child’s garden, and lish units decide to halt. Cigarettes here not too expensive and that is why it is not reason to stop off smoke. I am 19, and I began to smoke approximately 6 years ego!!! I do not remember the first cigarette, I do not remember a cough and terrible taste!!! I know only, that in spite of the absolutely subzero attitude toward smoking, could not leave off to do it, although never tested pleasure, and did not even think that test!!!
I am beneficial you for that you gave me: FREEDOM!!!! Possibly that will seem that to talk about it early, in fact all nicotine did not even go out from my body, but I believe in myself, and does not want to smoke even by submitting the smoking friends round me, I will not feel deprived, in fact I am free now!!! That is great!!!!
If honestly, it would be very pleasantly me, to hear praise exactly from you!!! In fact you talk that such act must fathers appraised!!! With impatience I will wait an answer from you!!!THANK YOU!!!

I attended one of the Allen Carr day courses, I have to say I was very sceptical and really didn’t think it would work, I went with a friend which really helped for the moral support. The first few days after the course I was pretty annoyed because whilst I enjoyed smoking I just didn’t want one, it was very strange like a loved one had been taken away from me and whilst I knew it was for the best I was sad to see it go.
I have now been a non smoker for 1 year and 4 months and it’s fantastic, I really never thought I could do it, I can now get on and live my life and not have this ‘thing’ hanging over me, I really am free of it, and so proud of myself for being a non-smoker.
On the day of the course my wish was to forget I had ever been a smoker and whilst this didn’t come true immediately, it has now and I can’t believe I use to do it!
Some of my friends still smoke and I go outside with them when they smoke for the social side of things but I never want one, I still quite like the smell of fresh smoke, but the stale smell – I can’t believe I use to smell like that!
I would recommend this course to anyone – generally do, many listen but aren’t ready or can’t justify the money. If I had known what I do now I would have been prepared to pay a lot more for this course as your life is priceless and worth so much more!!
