I started smoking just as Allen describes it in the book – as a teenager, trying to be cool, and forcing myself to like it. Before I knew it, 15 years had passed and I’d tried to quit atleast 5 times (unsuccessfully). Quitting has ALWAYS been on my mind, and I never liked being a smoker in the first place. I hated smelling gross and knew that my mouth tasted like an ashtray. I heard about his book from a friend and went out and bought it last weekend. I read the whole thing in 2 days and quit smoking last Monday (2/15/10). It’s only been 7 days since I quit, but I feel fantastic! What a liberating feeling to be done with those nasty cigarettes. And, everyone keeps asking me if I quit “cold turkey” but I didn’t even think about it that way because I’m just ridding my body of the disgusting nicotine instead of replacing it with something else. YES, I quit “cold turkey” and FEEL GREAT!!!! This book is a lifesaver and Allen Carr is a genius for shedding the glorious light on saving ourselves from this drug called nicotine. Thank you Allen and may you rest in peace. :)

Started reading ‘Easyway’ a couple of years ago, but put off finishing the book so i could have the excuse that i need to smoke untill i finish.doh!
Have finally read book and about half way through something twigged..i genuinley no longer enjoyed a cigarette, i have brought my quit day forward by a couple of days as i was excited about the prospect of feeling free.
Although only 24 hours later i consider myself a non smoker, feel great and not struggling at all, unlike previous willpower/NRT methods.
Allen Carr was a genius and the NHS should issue his book to all smokers!
WHO NEEDS TIGHT SHOES AND BAD BREATH!!??

13 years ago, after trying and failing to stop smoking by using nicotene replacement gum, I read Allens book. Before I had even finished the book I was confidently telling my friends that I was never going to smoke another cigarette. After seeing me try and fail previously they were dubious about my success. Well I can report that 13 years later I have not once been tempted, not once craved or missed cigarettes and cannot imagine that I ever will. A wonderful book that changed my life. Allen Carr, thank you Sir.

Dear Allen,
I smoked for fifty years and had “given up” on three occasions; once for seven months. I began reading your book on my 64th birthday and reached the “smoke your last cigarette” chapter at 11:30 pm the next day. I followed your instructions to the letter and was so confident that I promised my non-smoking wife I would never smoke another cigarette. Now, six days later, I have no desire to smoke; the little nicotine monster is dead; my family are delighted and I am a happy non-smoker. I expected a book of pseudo-science and discovered common sense and a unique approach. I shall be forever grateful.

I used the method to stop somewhere around a year ago, Had an intial weight gain but that came off again. I have now applied his method to stop my cannabis use, works here too! Except cannabis is even easier! Hey I didn’t have to give up my cannabis mates, which most methods suggest, not Allen! Thank you Allen Carr.

I was introduced to this book from a co-worker who had also stopped. I read the book in 11 hours and that included me going to work for 8 hours, after which I was a non smoker, and have not smoked a cigarette since. I have also, got my wife to stop reading the alan carr’s for women. I am very proud of her as I thought she would never stop. I truely love this book and would recommend it to anyone who really wants to stop.

I first stopped smoking using allens group day course, and was amazed at how easy it was to stop, 12 years of it then one 6 hour course, immediate results!
Unfortunatley I fell back into the trap, when i lost my partner of seven years to a sudden death. I smoked for a year and remembered the vow I had made to myself. I then bought the audiobook and once again, stopped as soon as i finished it. Very little pangs and no effort. Iknow i have stopped smoking for the rest of my life.
To anyone with any doubts this is the easiest way in the world to stop, no efort required just you and the ability to listen or read!
To allen and his amazing staff I owe my happy non-smoking future,
Thank You

I was given this book by my old employer who offered to buy any smokers who were thinking of quitting a copy, I started to read the book nearly four years ago and after feeling it start to work I put it back on the shelf and picked up my Martina Cole instead, my Grandad is in his final stages of lung cancer and my father had re-occuring strokes, both due to smoking, I know that is all I have to look forward to if I continue and it isn’t something I want my daughter to witness as I have, I have smoked since I was 12 and will give my ‘little monster’ his last supper once I have written to you, I already don’t want to smoke anymore but I am going to do it properly, on Friday I spent my usual fag break sat having a coffee and a giggle with my work mates I didn’t even notice that I had not had a smoke! Thank-you for showing me the way!

I read the Allen Carr easy way to stop smoking book and smoked my last cigarette on Sunday night 07/02/10 . I have not had the desire to light a cigarette or replace with chewing gum , mints etc.
I have tried so many times before to quit but have put on weight as have used food as a sustitute and have been irritable and bad tempered.
It is such an amazing feeling to be free of the nicotine addiction.
Why has this method not been recognised by the National Health and the Government?

A day that will stay with me forever – 20th January 2007 , it was almost a late New Year resolution , this was the date I began reading Easyway, I was so amazed I had my ‘Moment of Revelation’ before I even reached halfway through reading. I could not believe that I was awoken from the trap , I was FREE!!! – That was 3 years ago, I am still smoke free , Now I always suggest Alan’s way to anyone struggling with this addiction.

I stopped smoking at your clinic in Raynes Park, London, on 5th November 2001 (Bonfire Night, how ironic!). I’ve never smoked since, nor have I wanted to. For about a week afterwards I kept asking myself if I wanted to smoke, and every time it was a resounding ‘no’. It felt strange, but very liberating, to finally be free of cigarettes after 15 years of smoking. I can’t imagine how I’d feel physically now if I’d continued to smoke; the fear I’d feel with each chest pain. I don’t give things like that a second thought anymore!

I have been a 20 to 30 a day smoker since I was 13, I’m now 41 and until recently thought I was doomed to life as a smoker. It’s early days yet but I am on my 3rd day as a non smoker and finding it easier than I ever have in the various attempts I’ve made in the past. I felt I had to comment as I got the book last minute and only managed to read half of it before my stopping date but it makes so much sense I just have to think about what I read and it makes me not want to smoke. As I said it is early days but what I’ve read makes me feel so positive and I am actually enjoying not smoking. Thanks so much.

I am a 37 year old male from Italy. I used to smoke for almost 20 years and tried several times to quit, without being successful. I resisted maximum 3 months. Last year a colleague of mine at work told about Allen Carr’s book. I wanted to quit and that is the basis for being successfull, but I can assure that being helped by Allen’s book made it really easy. It is really true. Sometimes somebody discovers the so called “hot water” and make things so easy. I don’t mean saying that Allen’s contribution was useless, I am saying the very contrary. He was so helpful and his book was much better than everything else in supporting me quitting. I am just saying that I was really shocked looking at how simple was the way Allen put it. He unpacked the complex nicotine addiction in small components and worked on the most important ones. It is like if a psycologist broke/unpacked my problem in small pieces, put them in the right sequence/order and then packed me (not my problem) back!
On March 6th 2010 it will be one year I quit smoking. The most beautiful thing is that thanks to Allen’s book now I live my new life of freedom from cigarette like the greatest conquer, rather than like the saddest renunciation or sacrifice. In the past a girlfriend of mine from the USA tried to make me quit by showing me pictures of lungs of smokers (source: American Lung Association). Even though the pictures were really hard to be seen, that approach did not impact at all on me, leaving me in love with my jailer. Allen’s approach was radically different and much more effective!
Thanks Allen, sincerely!!
Thanks from me, from my partener, our son and from all the people that care about me, as I’ve been doing since I read your book.

Some attempts in the past were made to quit, but not with any real success.Years ago , when I was pregnant I didn’t smoke, but only because it made me sick. Right after delivery I grabbed for the cigarette.I also mad an attempt to cut down and was down to 10 cigs a day unless it was a special day and then back to 20.My 6oth birthday is 3 months away and I look forward to being a non smoking 60 yr old. I am a 58 year old male, from Manchester, England, who quit smoking after over 40 years of addiction. I smoked my first experimental cigarettes about age 13 and never really stopped until 1 month ago on my 58th birthday. I read the easyway book about 8 years ago after a recommendtion but somehow things didn’t gell (as Alan puts it). As I was sorting out a drawer I came across the book again and decided to give it another read. I was approaching my birthday so decided this was my target date, I also watched Allen’s videos on youtube. He was a truly remarkable man. This time evrything fell into place, I knew as I smoked that final cigarette that I was to become a non-smoker for the rest of my life. I’m so greatful to Allen and the Easyway organisation for releasing me from the nicotine trap. For the last 4/5 years I became a chain smoker. I’ve spoken to friends who have quit years ago using the willpower and NRT and each 1 has said they could start again tomorrow? What sort of quitting is that?, going through life craving nicotine. I’ve recommended the book to them so like me they can be free and happy to be a non-smoker! Thank-you. Ralph.

Muchisimas Gracias

I was (un)happily smoking away whilst on holiday in Egypt at Christmas when on a trip a gentleman said that if I wanted to give up smoking I had to read Allen Carr’s book. I had tried every other method of quitting and failed so figured it was worth a try but could not really see how reading a book could help me quit. Last cigarette smoked on 24th January at about 11.30am. I had just a few pages of the book left and read these whilst smoking (as directed) still not completed believing that once I turned that last page Yeovil, Somerset
I would not smoke again. I cannot tell you how amazed I am that not only after smoking that last cigarette I feel no side effects whatsoever but I have no desire to smoke anymore despite living with a smoker. I do have two regrets though – I wish I had known about the book years ago and that I had taken contact details from the gentleman who recommended the book as I would so love to thank him.

I am from United Kingdom and smoked for 20 years!
Due to health reasons I decided to stop smoking which was really VERY hard.
Thank you Allen Carr for your wonderful method (hypnosis) and giving me “quality” of life back again.
I have been a happy non-smoker for 5 years now and will NEVER EVER smoke again! In fact I cannot be near anyone that smokes, the smell makes me feel sick.
I have suggested this method to many, many friends in the UK and South Africa with success!
No other product like gum, patches etc, work, as they still contain nicotine and is a waste of your money.
Smoking kills!
If you are serious about your well being, this method works!

We are so thankful for Allen’s philosophy and attitude changing ways our lives will never be the same. Thank you

It was 13 years ago, when I lived in the Netherlands. I quit smoking using the willpower method and nicotine patches and felt awful. I bought the Easyway book and was happy to read I didn’t have to quit smoking just yet, so I went out and bought two packs of cigarettes. I finished the book two days later and tossed the last, half empty pack in the fireplace. I have never touched a cigarette again and never felt deprived! I am still grateful every day!
Right now I’m reading the Easy way to stop drinking…

I quit smoking on October 18, 2003 and have never smoked since. Only once did I crave a cigarette since then. It was during my eighth month of being smoke-free. I just called the phone number on the back of the book and spoke to one of the representatives who answered the phone. He was extremely helpful and since then I have never ever craved anotheert cigarette. My life is full and free.I since then purchased the book for friends and family. I do know a few other people who quit smoking using the book. It is so thrilling to be smoke-free, especially in today’s society. Thank you so much Allen Carr!

as i keep reminding myself i do not need nor want to smoke i will be fine.

Hello, I would like to tell you about my experience with easyway. I finished reading the book on friday last, immediately I made the solemn vow to never smoke again. All went exceedingly well until this afternoon, I had felt like a happy non smoker for 5 whole days, these have been 5 of the best days I’ve had for 10 years!
After a very busy day painting and decorating my kitchen, I stepped back to admire my work and suddenly had the craving for a cigarrette. I paced up and down for 10 minutes before giving in and off I went to the shop to buy 10.
I found myself having to force the filthy smoke down my throat over almost 10 minutes! I don’t know why I tried one, but it feels terrible. Almost immediately the lethargy kicked in and my chest began to ache, along with the compulsory ‘head rush’. Did I feel better for it? NO WAY!
Everything you say in your book is so true, I now understand how pointless smoking is! The thought of paying to suffocate myself ever again is ridiculous. Over the last week i have felt more confident, awake, alive, energetic, intelligent, proud, saved money, and felt less fearfull about the next ‘fix’.
I know I’ll never NEED to smoke again, and I love that fact! My only regret is that I waited 10 years before realising this.
Thank You so much Allen Carr, I truly owe you my life.
