I quit March 20th, 2006 at 8:30 pm. I flicked my last one out the car window (another filthy habit)and haven’t lit up since. I had smoked for 25 years. I owe the rest of my healthy life to Allan Carr. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

It’s been three weeks since I stopped smoking and I am so happy.

I started smoking three years ago when I was 23 years of age – I felt so stupid because I did it to ‘fit in’ with all the people around me.

After reading two of Allen’s books I have realised I wasn’t stupid, just brain washed.

I feel so free and happy. I have told everyone that has said that they want to quit to read one of the books.

Thank you so much for giving me my life back.

I was so sorry to hear that Allen Carr had passed away. I have now been a non smoker for 4 years. Allen’s method was the only thing that saved me from a 30-a-day habit that was taking over my life. Giving up smoking is the best thing I have ever done, every time I see a smoker I remind myself how lucky I am to be free of cigarettes. I really don’t think I could have done it without attending the clinic in Raynes Park. I wish I had said thank you to Allen whilst he was still alive, my thoughts are with his family and I just want to reiterate what a positive impact he had on my life. Thanks to everyone who continues Allen’s good work.

I have found Allen’s books a true inspiration and have found it so much easier to quit this time [after countless attempts with other methods!!]

I hope he rests in peace and may his family have peace of mind knowing that he has done so much for those of us out there who want to or have quit smoking.
Thanks Allen, and God Bless you.

Today is the third anniversary of the day that I stopped smoking. After a succession of chest infections after smoking a minimum of 20 a day for 20 years I picked up the book, left for me by my father-in-law. I read the book in a day and have never smoked since. It was a truly liberating experience and one that I would fully recommend to anyone. Indeed, I have been fortunate enough to pass it on to several people who have also successfully stopped.

If you want to stop smoking this book will change your life.

I quit smoking 2 years ago and although I didn’t quit right after I read the book, it took me 2 months to let it grow on me – it kept creeping up to me whenever I lit a cigarette up “I don’t need this, I really really don’t need this”.

Thank you VERY much for this contribution to the world, thank you for the brilliant words that have inspired so many others to quit on their addictions.

Thank you to a brilliant man who no longer is among us.

You shall be missed. Your contribution to this world has been and will continue to be priceless.

After trying several different ways to give up and failing at all of them, a co-worker that used to smoke 40 a day came in one day and said he had given up. This was the guy that I’d often shared ciggie breaks with… I was stunned. He told me about Allen’s book, so I bought it, read it over the weekend and gave up at the end of it. No cravings, nothing.

My husband teased me continually that although I was now a non smoker it would take 10 years to leave my system! Well those 10 years were up 6 years ago. I now have not smoked for 16 years, I have never and will never smoke again and I tell ANYONE that will listen, about Allen’s book.

What a tragedy that he should die from helping others.

I was a full time smoker for 15 years and it was always on my mind that it was harming me and I would have to face ‘giving up’ one day. All I had ever heard was that stopping smoking was one of the hardest things you’d ever have to do (as frequently stressed on nicotine replacement adverts)

I tried the willpower method once and became a miserable, stressed out nutter as all my friends will agree! After 6 months I caved in and went back to smoking, feeling like a failure. Someone recommended reading Allan Carr’s book and after reading the first page I couldn’t put it down; it was funny and inspiring and made so much sense.

I smoked my last cigarette 2 1/2 years ago and know that I will never smoke another cigarette in my life. I haven’t missed it for a second and in contrast have been really happy and have felt amazing! My skin glows, I can breath normally again and have more energy. I now find it hard to believe I was ever a smoker.

I am so thankful to Allan Carr for helping me and had always wanted to write my gratitude to him. I was very shocked and sad to hear of his death.
What an amazing man; he has helped so many people- he is an inspiration and a life saver!

My wife made this comment back in May 2006 and she was correct I found finding the time to read the book difficult. I bought the audio version of the book and downloaded it to the ipod, I listened to it and before I realised it I was a happy non smoker.

A few days of some mild pangs nothing like I had experienced before, and that was it 24 years of smoking countless failed attempts and now I am free!

Thank you Alan you have without doubt saved my life… now who can we free next :-)

I just wanted to say that I cannot thank Allen enough for saving my life. That is exactly what I feel that he did for me. I have three children and I have smoked since i was 18 (Im 33 now) I quit when i was pregnant but for some reason, only my babies health was a good enough reason for me to quit. Once they were born, my own health risks didnt matter and i started again. Realizing that all i was doing was killing myself, i tried to quit again. A good friend of mine told me to read this book and I have stopped smoking – easiliy and never looked back. My kids are soooooo happy. I have read his stop drinking book as well and i have never felt more excited for my future as i do now. I feel as though he has given me a second chance at life. Thank you so much Allen, your memory will live on in your teachings. God bless your family.

I’m so sorry to hear of Allens’ death!! Wow. I am unable to personally tell him that he helped one more! I saw Ashton Kutcher on Leno and I said “I gotta check this book out, if Ashton quit so can I”. I finished reading it at 1:00 AM on New Years Day 2007 and I haven’t smoked since or really even cared. The little monstere has asked to be fed a few times but I just tell him that I’m sorry, he has to die now. I came here to check out Allen’s site and I’m very saddened to learn he died of lung cancer, my greatest fear. I wish his famiy peace & love, as I’m sure they are very proud of him and the acheivements he has made in the world, including helping me be free. Thank you so much, Allen, and rest in peace knowing that you made a real difference in the world.

Well I went along to the seminar on 7/10/06, I walked out an unconvinced non smoker!! I found the first week quite tough going but there was something in me that just was not going to give in. Obviously it got easier and easier – after 4 weeks I knew I would never smoke another cigarette again. I am now 3 months down the line and I am so proud to say that I am officially a non smoker. I have actually had nightmares about smoking, I awake with relief that it is only a dream and the thought of smoking feels me with dread now. Easyway to lose weight here I come!!

i finished Alan Carr’s book on Christmas Eve morning. I had read it over the course of about three months. I smoked my final cigarette that same morning just as my son arrived for Christmas holidays. This was a special moment as he had given the book to me two years ago after successfully quitting using Mr. Carr’s method. My ex husband and father to my son had died this year of lung cancer so my quitting smoking was very poignant.Every thing Mr. Carr spoke about is true and i am now free from “the monster” nicotine and out of prison.Thank-you for saving my life.

Thank you Allen, wherever you are!

I became free of smoking a few days ago after reading your book and feel great… not only physically, but great about my decision and the certainty of my success. I began smoking nearly 15 years ago for the mother of all stupid reasons: to impress a girl I hardly knew. I imagined at that time (and promised myself) that I wouldn’t let it go longer than 5 years. I wish I had known about your book back then, and am grateful that a friend recommended it to me now.

While only a few days into my freedom, I’m finding the experience terribly entertaining, and not at all painful. The “big monster” in the back of my head says ,”I want a cigarette!” and I respond,”That’s all well and good, but I don’t… and I’m in charge here!” It is such a relief to be able to laugh at the pangs and see them for what they really are, rather than letting them bludgeon me into taking that first puff.

I proudly and gratefully declare my independence from the weed. It has ceased to be a meaningful influence in my life.

Again, Allen, wherever you are, thank you… and Godspeed!

Yet again we see another attempt by the UK Government to persuade people to stop smoking using expensive advertising. Another valiant attempt but doomed to failure.

Issue the Easyway book to every smoker is the answer. I read it in September 2006 and have not smoked since. It works and from all the other testimonys I am reading it is not mere fallacy. I was astonished just how easy it was.

Lets hope the legacy Allen leaves behind will mean we rid ourselves of this body and soul destroying habit…

A posthumous knighthood for Mr Carr!!

Hello Allen and all staff of Easyway. I know Allen may not be reading this mail but I guess he does’nt need to. Wherever he is I know he’s happy. Just wanted to share a little of my experience. I’ve been a heroin addict for around 10 years and a nicotine addict for close to 20 years. I quit heroin 15 years ago but continued nicotine. I swore by it. Liked every cigarette I smoked and talked about the great pleasures of tobacco. Until I read EasyWay quite by chance and realised what an idiot I was. I’ve quit smoking around 5 days ago and am going through the recovery syndrome. Throat is dry as hell, tongue tastes funny, head feels light, coughing like a pig BUT I FEEL CALM. Thank you Allen and EasyWay for showing how much of an idiot I was. God bless you, your family and your staff. I’m from India so let me know if you need a volunteer.

I’m an American and I started smoking on my 18th birthday, reason being that I legally could. Some people asked if I had bought a lottery ticket, I said “no I bought cigarettes.” I guess I must’ve thought that smoking would make me feel like an adult, that I would be “cool”. Ha, how wrong I was. I never realized I was addicted until 2 years later when I decided I wanted to quit. Didn’t work. I continued to smoke for 4 years after that and attempted to quit when a close friend’s mother died of lung cancer. I tried using the patch. I went a week.

2 months ago a British friend of mine mentioned that he was reading a book to help him stop smoking. I remember thinking “Psh, yea right… A book… How is that going to work?” After he finished it he told me how easy it was and how happy he now was to be a non-smoker, so I decided to buy the book. I thought I really have nothing to lose, and if this book doesn’t work I’ve only lost 15 dollars compared to hundreds with other methods.

I read it with an open mind and finished the book in about 4 days… On December 1st, 2006 at 5:10pm I put out my last cigarette and have been a happy non-smoker ever since. On my birthday, the 4th of December, I was the happiest I had been in awhile. Not only was I surrounded by my friends that I love most, but I was finally free of that horrible addiction.

I’m 26 now and I was a smoker for 8 years. I’ve been a happy non-smoker for almost a month now. I constantly thank my British buddy. If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t have known about this book, I’d never heard of Alan before.

Thank you for freeing me from my addiction and showing me how easy it was. I now share this book with anyone who wants to quit. My dad is 58 has been a smoker since he was sent to Vietnam and he has tried and failed to quit more times than I can count. I’m proud to be setting an example that something will finally work for him.

My thoughts and condolences are with your family.

Words can’t even convey how thankful I am… But Thank you!!!

I was a confirmed smoker for many years (close to 15), and the mere thought of stopping smoking always made me paniccy and just want anotehr ciggerette.

On February the 15th 2006 I went to a clinic course and in the afternoon like everyone else in the class, smoked my last ciggerette and left feeling on a high.

Nearly eleven months later I am totally smoke free, have never had another one, not even a puff. I still have the occasional “it might e nice to smoke” when surrounded by smokers, but nothing would ever make me pick one up again!

I tell all my smoking friends about the course and know the only reason they don’t do the course themseleves is because they know they will stop on the same day as the course!

Thank you!

Hi,

I’ve tried to stop smoking once, about 3 years ago. After a 1,5y I started smoking again. Recently I took the book from a friend and started reading, I wasn’t even planning on stopping that evening, but I read the book from begin until finish and now I’ve been clean since 4 days. I’ve been a smoker for over 10 years.

I truely support this method, stopping has never been so easy, almost no side-effects.

My condoleances go out to the Carr family

Greetings from Belgium,

On the 22nd of November, 2006; while driving my daughter home from University, for Thanksgiving: I stopped at a Barnes and Nobel to buy the audio book “The Life of PI”; which is a marvelous book; especially if you drive a lot as I do. We wanted to listen to it on our journey from Oklahoma to Texas and back.

While at the book store; I noticed an audio book that had written on the front “The Easy Way to Stop Smoking” by Allen Carr. The cost was less than $20; and having absolutely no respect for money, I of course, bought it.

Now, a little back ground is in order. I am 62 years of age; and started smoking when I was 10. In those days the only reason you were not suppose to smoke was because “you were not old enough” ; it was something only adults do; and something I always wanted to be, was an adult; which by the way, I am still looking forward to being; someday.

I have smoked more that three pack (60 +) of cigarettes per day for as long as I can remember. I won’t go into all the details of health, wealth, and social opportunities I have lost; because, if you are a smoker, you already have been beaten over the head with them until you want to kill one of those anti-smoking nuts, that couldn’t run their fat butts around the block without having a heart attack; by giving them mouth to mouth with cigarette smoke until they die of cancer.

Anyway, , after Thanksgiving, I took my daughter back to University and we listen to that wonderful story of PI and the Tiger.

It takes me about an hour to get to work everyday; and so, I took the little audio book “The Easy Way to Stop Smoking” by Allen Carr with me and listened to it. There are five (5) CDs; each about one hour long, which worked out very well for me. I had to listen to the little audio book twice before I made the decision that I could and would quit smoking; and actually believed “that it would be easy”. Of course the little monster inside my stomach and the larger monster in my mind ; that were addicted to cigarettes; were damn near dieing from laughter. They knew all too well that the attempt might be a little uncomfortable for a while; but, that I would soon give in and life as a smoker would go on until it finally killed me; but, what the heck, you have to die of something; and I only planned on living till I was forty anyway.

I had made other attempts; that awful tasting gum, the patch, smokeless nicotine, and of course pure will power; and for all the people who have quit, one of those ways; “I think that is wonderful”.

On December 12, 2006, a Tuesday morning at 9:10 am; I stood outside my truck with a friend and smoked my last cigarette. After all those years and all that fear, it really “was easy”.

Today, December 23, 2006, I have absolutely no desire to smoke another cigarette, the little monster inside my stomach, and the big monster inside my mind are dead; and I am free at last. Thank you God, and Allen Carr.

Merry Christmas and God Bless You All

I attended one of your clinic sessions in Buckingham with mixed feelings. After smoking 20 a day for 23 years, I wanted to stop, but thought it was impossible! How could I wake up the following morning and have my cup of coffee without a cigarette? How could I ever enjoy a nice meal again and not finish off with obligatory cigarette afterwards?

Well 5 months later, I have the answers to those questions, its been EASY. I have not smoked since attending the seminar, nor have I had any cravings at all.

You have changed my life forever. How can I ever thank you enough?

When I read Allen’s book (and smoked while giving up) I had my revelation about halfway through…I knew I would never need those awful things again. That was about 5 months ago, and it just doesn’t seem real!! When people who know me ( I smoked 30-40 a day) say ‘Well done’, I say to them IT IS SO EASY!! My attempts to give up smoking were unsuccessful until I attended Allen’s clinic in 1987.

Allen had been recommended to me by an acquaintance. I was skeptical, but was persuaded to attend by the conviction with which he made the recommendation.

Allen’s method worked and (better still) it didn’t take will power. I haven’t smoked for almost 20 years and know I will never smoke again.

Thank-you Allen Carr – Rest In Peace.

I was a smoker for 38 years and assumed that I would smoke until I died. My sister asked me if I wanted to read a book she had read to quit smoking. A third of the way through Mr. Carr’s book I wanted to quit, but followed his instruction and smoked my last cigarette during the last couple of pages. I am currently into my third week of being a non-smoker, and it has been nothing like what I suffered using the “willpower” method. I know that I have “given up” nothing. My only regret is that Mr. Carr passed on before I could thank him. To those who are still doing his work, please know how grateful I am and accept my sympathies in Mr. Carrs passing.
