I was a-pack-a-day smoker for 25 years, and became a non-smoker in one day after reading Allen Carr’s book (twice, admittedly). I haven’t smoked for 3 years now, and have a hard time thinking I did actually smoke once.

Rest in peace, Mr. Carr. Heaven deserves you.

Dear Allen,

I’m 34 years old, I read your book back in 2001 and I have been meaning to write to thank you ever since! I have been smoke free since reading your book and I am so grateful to you for giving me my life back. I smoked between 10-20 cigarettes a day.

Your book was fun to read and I was so excited about being free at the end of it. I couldn’t wait to finish the book and be a NON-SMOKER! I have given this book to many people, I know some will not read it, but those who have were able to quit easily.

I’m pregnant now and I’m so overjoyed I don’t have to be worried about “giving up” and needing a ciggie all the time. I’m also happy I won’t be smoking after the birth and my kids won’t grow up to think smoking is normal.

You are a life saver. Thank you!

Kirsten

It’s 11 months to the day I went to Allen Carr in Birmingham and I have not had a single cigarette or cigar in all that time. It worked wonderfully for me. The first few days were just a little difficult, because of all the occasions when I’d normally smoke, but not nearly as bad as you expect. I keep meeting people who tell me “I’ve tried the Allen Carr book and it didn’t work…”, but I always tell them they must try the clinic – just reading isn’t the same thing as participating in something. Anyway – 8,375 thanks (and counting).

I had smoked from the age of 11 until I was 50 and probably smoked between 30 and 40 a day. Mr Carrs book was a godsend indeed. I had no intention of stopping smoking and only read the book under pressure from family. I stopped immediately. No cravings, no withdrawal, nothing….. A life without cigs is fantastic

I stopped smocking the 18th of July 2007 after a smocking life of 17 years and the thing I have to say now is thank you.
Your book will be the birthday present for my father on August and already is the present for my friend Virgili.
Thank you, your book made me move in the moment I was promising myself to quit smocking, and with this, to quit a myself I didn’t like to be any longer. Daniela from Italy

Today is the first day of the rest of my life as a non smoker. I’ve thought about smoking most of the day but the thoughts have all been negative. I know I never want to get caught up in the trap again. I may be feeling a little apprehensive today but I was feeling absolutely miserable yesterday. I never want to go back there again!

I have tried on 6 different occassions to stop smoking using different types of NRT,they would work for a while but when the course had finished I would go back to smoking, infact I never really stopped craving for a cigarette.I was browsing in a book store 2 weeks ago when I came across one of Allan Carrs books ‘The only way to stop smoking permanently’ Thought i’de give it a go, didn’t seem a lot to splash out,Istarted to read the book on the way home one the bus, couldn’t put it down. I liked the idea that you wasn’t expected to give up the cigs untill you understood what Allan was saying through the book. There was no point in fooling yourself, skipping pages ETC. I have not smoked for 9 days now with the willpower method,I have followed Allans thought patterns and I must say it’s been the easiest quit I have been through. I do get the little monster creep up and give me a prod sometimes but I understand now how the addiction was controlling me and what a stupid little thing it was. Thankyou for the truth

Please accept my condolences, I just learned of Alan’s passing. His book was an inspiration and joy to read. I caught myself several times laughing out loud. I have been a non-smoker for 1 month and I have never felt so free and happy; I smoked for 30 years. I decided I would read Alan’s book, go on vacation and smoke my brains out and quit when I returned. I did it with absolutely no withdrawal or regrets. Thank you so much for coming into my life. Oh my son has quit as well. Double Bonus!

The book has honestly opened a can of worms for me psychologically. i never expected that to happen as a result of stopping smoking. now not only have i saved money on ciggarettes but also on therapy!

A good mate gave me his copy of the Easyway, along with the comment “I started to watch this, but could’nt watch it all the way through as it started to really make me think about stopping” ??? go figure!
I was a pack a day smoker, anyway I watched it two months later,(cigarettes in hand), and have’nt smoked since. That was over 6 years ago.
There is’nt enough thanks I can give, but after smoking for over twenty years I am eternally grateful, as are my family.

The Easyway, what a legacy to leave a planet, RIP Allen.

PS. My mate, also a family man, finally watched the video through completely a couple of years later and has been smoke free since.

I’m from Ecuador. I lost much of my healt, my tooth pieces and oportunities because of the cigarrette. By now it’s been 1 year 3 months without smokin thanks to Allen Carr’s brilliant book. You should have been awarded in life wih a Nobel prize or whatever.. Because I’m sure it is the best way to quit the poisoning. My mom is reading it now, but she is not determined yet to finish it quick, and I’m getting desperate.

Let me begin by saying that I am 100% left brained. I work on Wall Street and am most comfortable with fact and figures. I bought “The Easy Way to Stop Smoking” largely to appease others who wanted me to quit. I have smoked one pack per day for 20 years.

I finished the book on May 9th—78 days ago. I have, since May 9th, twice craved a cigarette. I talked myself through the cravings, which took about 30 seconds both times.

I don’t know how this book works. When asked by my friends about it (they never thought I would quit!) I tell them the book contains “Jedi Mind Tricks.”

I don’t want to know how the book works for fear it would offend my left-brained sensibilities.

Read the book. Enjoy the result!

I’ve been a ‘serial quitter’ for years, starting in the mid-1990s. I used patches, gum, willpower, the whole gamut. My best run was a 9-month stint which ended during the Xmas holiday, one night when I thought ‘just one, it’s the holiday after all’. Of course that ‘just one’ put me right back on the trail to a 40-a-day addiction.

This year I discovered Easyway, and stopped after reading it cover to cover in two stints. I thought I had got the message, but really I’d missed it because I was back on the weed a few weeks later – again, ‘just one’ did the damage.

Six weeks ago today I finished re-reading Easyway, and I believe I’ve got the message good and proper this time. There IS no ‘just one cigarette’, and I have had no desire to ignite a cancer stick in my face.

Good luck to Easyway in promoting the message.

I was fed up with smoking and kept saying I was going to stop…. In January 2007 I began dieting and jogging and said I would stop smoking when I lost 2 stone. By May I had lost 2 stone, did I stop? NO I was going on holiday and I couldnt possibly stop while on holiday. Hmmm Duty Frees well I had to bring some back even IF I was going to stop. While on holiday I gained a few pounds as you do therefore I was back over the 2 stone mark so didnt have to stop yet… Late June a friend arrived with a big bag of birthday presents, she said pick which one you want to open first…. second etc etc then I pointed to one that wasnt wrapped and she said well its not really a present I picked it up from work for you and hey presto guess what it was Allen Carr` book The Easyway to Stop Smoking, oh right thanks I said and carried on opening the more exciting presents. With the 1st July smoking ban now iminent I decided to read the book (and yes I have tried to stop several times, unsucessfully) I read 99% (it was that engrossing) of the book in one sitting just holding off the last chapter until the night before the date I had picked (2 days away) Sunday 1st July. I smoked what “was” to be my last cigarett at 11.30pm on that Saturday night, closely followed by a mild panic attack…. and another final final cigarette, which actually made me feel a little sick….!!!!! I havent smoked since. So that friend is a very best friend and Allens book ended up being the best present. I loaned it to my mum the following week and she too hasnt smoked since. Do it now you have absolutely nothing to loose and plenty to gain

Thank You Allen

Hello Allen

I just want to start by saying I am 30 years old and I am free for the first time in 15 years. I have just finished your book and put out my final smoke. I am now a Non-Smoker again. I have had your book for almost a year. Tonight I picked it up and began to read. By chapter two I had made up my mind I wasn’t going to put it down until I became a Non-Smoker. What really put the whole thing into perspective for me was the tight shoes. I now know that all smokers smoke to feel like a non-smoker, By smoking that first cigarette 15 years ago, I have continually smoked to to falsely rid Stress, Anxiety, Boredom and to relax. I know see all these symptoms are a direct result of nicotine. and no longer need nicotine to cloud my judgment. These symptoms are going to be here wither I smoke or not, but now as a Non-smoker I don’t have to feel horrible about these Symptoms. I’m Free.

Didn’t plan to quit. I was staying home after surgery and read the book. Amazing. After 30 years of smoking, stopped and didn’t even think about smoking again. Recommended to everybody, unfortunately, not everyone believe. Looking for a book in Russian for my husband. Where I can find? Hopefully translated book will give the same effect. Thank you. I read the book and quit for 3 months the first time, relapsed for 3 months and then read the book again. It was just as easy to quit the second time as it was the first time, and the reason i relapsed was because i didn’t follow the instructions in the book 100%. This time around i’ve quit smoking for 7 months. There are still moments I have the thought that i want a cigarette but following the instructions in the book help me not to act on those thoughts. I highly recommend it to every smoker looking for the MAGIC CURE – READ THE BOOK! It’s really is that easy….thank you, Allen Carr!

My quit date was August 3rd 2006. Initially things went well and I remained smoke free for some months before a small relapse that I easily recovered from.
Eight months on, remaining smoke free was becoming harder, until last month when the wheels completely came off and once more I was trapped.
Not any longer though… I can hardly contain the constant smile on my face. I have not only been smoke free but nicotine free from last Tuesday 10th July after reading Easyway – everything just fell into place.

Thanks Allen :-) Keep spreading the word.

July 9th I smoked my last cigarette having just finished Alan’s book. I immediately felt sick and dizzy, and had to lie down for a couple of hours. I was frankly amazed. I had wondered if I would be immune to Alan’s words, I really doubted I would stop on the strength of ‘reading a book’ but I haven’t wanted a cigarette since. Rather than counting the minutes since the last cigarette as I have during other attempts to quit, I find I just don’t think about cigarettes in spite of the fact my partner still smokes in my company. It’s as if I never smoked. Thank you Alan, I don’t know how you did it, but it seems to have worked! god bless you.

I too have just learnt of Allen’s death. Thank you so much Allen for sharing your discovery with all of us who want and need your help.
Like so many others have written before me, I approached Allen’s book with trepidation and fear too. What if it didn’t work for me? where would I look for help than? What would I do?
Because of this I read some and stopped, afraid that if I continued I might HAVE to stop and I wasn’t sure if I was ready. So the book lay waiting for me to finish for another month or so and I continued to smoke. But even though I had not finished the book I had read enough to have got the ball rolling and I found myself being much more aware of each time I lit up, so much more aware of what I was doing. (Ask your lungs what they think just after you’ve lit another smoke..if you listen to their answer it’s clear what they think). My coughing seemed to be getting worse. I was having trouble going to sleep because of the whistling and rattling from the constant phlegm in my throat. I couldn’t speak properly without the breathlessness causing a coughing fit. Finally I thought…Okay, the rest of the book. Simple. I read it. I stopped smoking. I have barely thought of it since. I know it’s still early days at just on one month but I’m confident I will not smoke again. I am amazed at how easy it has been and sad that this could not have occurred ealier in my life. I have been a heavy smoker for 49 years. Thank you again Allen Carr.

I’m happy to join the many other happy ‘puff-busters’ on your list!
I bought your book yesterday and read it in a number of hours … I already know it’s changed my life!!
I have never felt this kind of relief when I’ve thought about stopping smoking. Normally, I’d be putting off the entire enterprise and dreading my behaviour and other’s reactions to it.
Today, I feel strong, sensible, capable and clever. I’m so grateful that I was given the opportunity to change my life and hopefully the lives of other’s who I love.
I am a single mother and the years that I know I now have been given, I can use to watch my son grow. He will not have to look at me with sadness or worry any longer.
Thank you for giving me the best gift of all, my health and freedom!!

hello, I only got a third of the way through this amazing book when I knew that I would never be conned into becoming addicted to nicotine ever again. The same is true of alcohol. I feel that it is a crime that the government has ignored this simple but oh so effective method and it is obviously due to the lack of money making opportunities on their behalf. Shame on the disgusting attitude of all those involved with the mainstream addiction industry. Much love to all believers.xxx

I almost lost count, but it’s more than four years since I became a non smoker the EASYWAY.

I smoked 20 a day for 15 years. Stopped for a year twice (willpower method), and started again. Read Allen Carrs book and it was all SO TRUE. It was just as if I just needed reminding. Such a relief to be rid of the addiction! I don’t think of it at all much anymore, except for the times I feel grateful for being rid of the hassle. I’m truly free and it really was easy. Not just now, but already after a day or two.

I would just like to tell everyone how easy I have found giving up smoking. After nearly 40 years of smoking 20+ a day, I really didn’t believe that there was anything that could help me. Over the last 25 years I have tried hypnosis, acupuncture, tablets from the doctor and every nicotine replacement product going, and I accepted that I was a hardened smoker who just couldn’t give up.

I attended the Easyway session on January 21st 2007 and I haven’t had – or needed – a cigarette since. It has been like a miracle, I can’t explain it to any one. I have been so frightened that it wasn’t going to last and that all of a sudden I would start again, but after 6 months of not even remotely desiring a cigarette I am starting to believe that I am a non-smoker.

Many thanks to everyone at Easyway.

Hi,

My 25th birthday wish this year was to quit smoking. I first saw this book 2 years ago but somehow was sceptical and didn’t bother to read further.

4 Months after my 25th birthday my 5 year old son made me promise him that i wouldn’t smoke another ciggarette. After 2 days i felt so guilty and angry with myself, which caused me to pick another ciggarette up and smoke it without my son knowing.

After having that ciggarette i realised how stupid i was for giving in that easily and went straight to the library and hired out ‘The Easyway to quit smoking’

I read half of it that day and started feeling excited within myself – that i was starting to feel in control for once. The next day i had my final ciggarette, which i gut dragged and wanted to get over and done with. Immediately after i felt nauseaus, and started spinning out and had to lie down for 2 hours. After completing the book i felt relieved and hopeful for once in my life.

Without realising; my final ciggarette was on the 30th May 2007. World smokefree day was the 31st May 2007, i can’t describe the joy of being free and feeling excited about smoke free day. I was nearly in tears when listening to the radio that day, they played a message from Allen Carr. The radio station anounced that Allen Carr’s easy way method is the best soloution any smoker wanting to quit, to read about.

I was also very saddened to hear of Allen’s death in 2006. God Bless you MR Allen Carr for your help and advise on releasing people from this poisoning habit. At present my own family are reading your book and quitting with ease.

Thank you so much xxx

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
I read the quit smoking book in October and quit smoking after 15 years. The best part is that I was going through rehab for drug and alcohol addiction when I found it. At the time I was attending AA meetings and was resigned to the fact that the rest of my life was going to be a constant struggle with my addictions. Your quit smoking book worked so well that I was actually afraid to read the stop drinking book in fear that it would contradict all the AA stuff and I would be at alcohols mercy once again. Then I went on a cruise ,where there were no meetings, so I brought along the book. As you might expect the drinking book worked just as well. All my AA buddies were not very happy, they said you read one book and now your cured? And I feel they’ve read one book and now their cursed! into a life of constant self pity. Thank you for my freedom and making my life free of alcohol and tobacco without making the rest of my life about not drinking alcohol. I tell everyone who asks how I did it about the books. I am forever in your debt. My brother and my dad both quit smoking as well!!!!!

I was a “confirmed smoker”. At 38, I had 22 years of smoking under my belt and felt like a pathetic, weak minded, no will power idiot doomed to smoke forever. I’d convinced myself that it would be hard, it was not!! Knowing I’ll never smoke again is a feeling I’ve wanted to know all 22 years. THANK YOU MR. CARR!! I read the book and smoked my last cigarette on June 2, 2007. I smoked at least a pack a day and had been a smoker for 37 years.
I still can’t believe I’ve stopped!!! It feels so amazing and I feel so proud of myself!
I carry the book around with me, just in case I need to reread a little, but haven’t had to use it.
I tell anyone who will listen about the Easyway and am going to send my daughter a copy, hoping she might give it an honest try!
I know of one girl, that works in this building, who knows my story, bought her dad a copy for father’s day. I don’t know if he’s read it yet, but hope he will.
Unfortunately my copy of the book sat in my bookcase for probably five years before I had the courage to read it.
I’m very grateful to Allen and regret he’s not around to thank in person.
