Yippie! I’m a non-smoker! After 33 years of smoking and 30 years of quitting, I am now free!
I don’t know why and how it all clicked but I am a totally different person now. I know smoking does not relieve stress – it actually makes me more stressful if I’m the middle of a quit. I know smoking does not relieve boredom – When I’m bored, I’m just as bored with or without a cigarette.
It’s now 6 full days and yes, I’ve thought about smoking but no, I haven’t been tempted and no, I haven’t any withdrawal symptoms. I am 100% NOT grouchy – actually the opposite, I am elated and feel free and reborn! The sense of freedom is mind-boggling.
Enjoy the book. Smoke while you read it – I think that’s key to the solution. Then enjoy your new life as a non-smoker. Congratulations!

Hi all
My wife got me allen’s book for christmas 2006,i read it roughly 2 weeks into january 07 and have never smoked since! I smoked about 20 a day + the odd cigar for 10 years and i can say with 100% confidence i will never ever smoke again. Not only that but i passed the book on to friends who also quit(at least 3).You will have a special place in heaven allen for you have extended the lives of countless tens of thousand of people who would have never quit without your help,i certainly would’nt have. God bless and thank you very much.

Simple equation:
Read the book ==> Stopped smoking (6 months ago) and enjoy living as a non smoker.
My wife —> refused to read the book —> also stopped smoking (due to stroke and death)
What kills me is all of the WRONG and stupid information that still roams such as this terrible article in http://www.health.com/health/condition-article/0,,20210696_2,00.html
After so many years of success with easyway, WHY DO SO MANY “EXPERTS” still not get it!

For those of you unsure about giving up please trust the 1000’s of testimonials on here. I stopped 2 weeks ago and before I attempted to do so, I didn’t really want to!!
I know that 2 weeks is a very short time comparative to the majority of people on here but there lies the beauty of this method; I know I will never smoke again!
IT IS SOOOOOO EASY PEOPLE!!

I stopped smoking after finishing the book 1 month ago, and I am continuously amazed at the freedom Allen Carr’s method has brought to my life! It is wonderful to not be enslaved to nicotine!

I’ve just ended to read the book. I do not follow acurately the method because i smoked my last cigarrette ten days ago. Otherwise i am convinced to get the necessary courage to reach the end of smoke.
Congratulations for the method and thanks for hoping in a better world.

I did not want to be a smoker at 40 so timed my reading of Allen’s book to the 11th hour and extinguished my last cigarette when I was 39 years and 364 days old! Am only three days into my new life as a non-smoker but now that I truly understand the way to beat nicotine addiction – never, ever, ever have another cigarette, not just one, not just one puff, never, no excuses, never ever again – it’s actually pretty easy. God Bless you Allen Carr up in heaven. thank-you.

I quit a week ago and a day later decided to get mr. Carr’s book. On all the necessary levels he made me understand what smoking does to a person. Every day I become more understanding of the fantasy of it all, more conscious about all aspects of my life, slowly waking up after twenty years of deep sleep. Mind over body. Will over mind. Thank you. Your work is a blessing to us all. Mr. Carr now resides in the presence of certain very Holy Individuals.

Thanks to Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking I managed to quit some 4 years ago. Now i hardly think about it. I started to feel better almost immediately…i did it whilst on holiday…and everytime i went walking i thought about the fresh air i was breathing into my lungs instead of smoke. I wish all who have recently started on their journey to quit smoking the best. It does work…i recommended this book to my brother who quit and two people at work who also quit…it really is all in the mind. Thankyou!

Allen Carr you are a miracle worker, I was quite saddened to hear you had died after I finished the book. You will be canonized one day for your simple line of thinking that can help ANYONE quit smoking without even noticing withdrawal. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift, and to anyone skeptical, please don’t be because this is the real deal and it WILL work for you too.
Cat Asche said,
Yes, it works!
I smoked heavily (50-100 a day) for 34 years and was convinced that quitting would be impossible for someone like me. Smoking was part of my identity; a pose of rebellious independence which probably fooled only me. It was, I see now, a cover for the deep shame I felt at being enslaved by a stupid useless drug which was sapping my finances, ruining my health and leaving me stinky, tense and increasingly uncomfortable; over time a growing “need” for nicotine was increasingly frustrated by there being fewer and fewer places where one was allowed to smoke. What a trap! Despite this, for many years I clung to the delusion that cigarettes were my best friend, even after they had killed my father. Someone gave me Allen Carr’s book and when I read that he had once been as heavy a smoker as me but had got free of it I was willing to listen. As I write (May 2010) I’m 52 and smoke-free since August 2008. I feel so immensely grateful to this system that I regularly buy extra copies to pass on to friends. So as not to be an annoying evangelizing reformed smoker I tell them, ‘Hey no pressure, just put it in your bookshelf until you’re ready.’ But if you are considering the possibility of getting off the ‘mouse-wheel’ of nicotine addiction I’d say, don’t waste any more time. Do it! You’ll be so glad you did!

I smoked my last cigarette 2 and a half weeks ago and I can’t believe the miracle. I have tried on numerous occassions to stop smoking using nicotine patches, inhalers and lozenges etc but I was miserable. I knew will power didn’t work either and thought I was doomed to a life of being ruled by nicotine. I was already suffering from some of the physical effects of smoking with a permanent chesty cough and watching my grandmother gasping for breath with emphysema couldn’t make me quit either. Then my brother-in-law told me he had quit by reading the Easyway. I had nothing to lose so I ordered a copy and I haven’t looked back. I know it may be early days but I already feel like a happy non smoker. I am free at last. Thank you Allen Carr, your legend will live on.

I attended a clinic in Leicester with Rob back in July 2008 and I have not smoked since. Having been a heavy smoker for 19 years and having tried every other way of giving up smoking and failed I attended feeling as though this was mu last chance to give up but severely doubting that the allen carr method would work for me. I was totally wrong!! I cant really explain why it worked and I actually don’t care. If you are reading this and still thinking about it I would urge you to give it a go as you have nothing to lose and I can promise you that it worked for me. Thanks so much to Rob I know it sounds over dramatic but you really did change my life. When I see people smoking now I have to stop myself from going over and saying you know you really dont need to do that and its so easy to give up (without any withdrawal symptoms)

Hi guys,
I recently cenebrated my 1 year anniversary of no smoking and just wanted to say a massive thank you!
My experience was only ever positive. I cannot explain how much my life has changed since I took the step to change it. I was on 20 a day for 12 years and as you say, I always thought Id give up soon, but never managed it before last year. it was amazing. The whole day was brilliant and I left elated to be free of the chain.
I celebrated each month with a pat on the back until I even stopped remembering Id stopped. It just seems so normal now when for years, smoking was normal.
My friends are still in awe as they knew how much I smoked and proclaimed to love it. I sing your praises and have recommmended you to many.
I am so happy and have been ever since. It is amazing the change.
Thank you so much, each and every day. You changed my life and gave it back to me.
This was the best thing I ever did.
Kind regards
Sharon

I would just like to thank Allen Carr for his method and for dedicating the rest of his life to helping smokers and sharing this method. I am 23 and have smoked about 20 cigarettes day since I was 15. The lowest point of my smoking life was without a doubt not being able to quit when I was pregnant… I cut down and justified it every which way I could think of, but still felt judged (rightly so) and like a leper. That was 3 years ago and since then I knew that I was in fact a prisoner and not in control of smoking! A friend of mine at Tafe mentioned your book ‘The only way to stop smoking permanently’, I bought it that day and read it. I smoked my final cigarette when you said and have been a non smoker now for two weeks! I am so unbelievably happy and free! Most of my smoking friends think I’m hiding something or pretending when I say I don’t care if they smoke in front of me..and others openly admit their jealousy for me but still don’t go out and buy the book??! My mum and my stepdad are heavy smokers and HATE smoking, they are ill from it and my stepdad coughs his lungs up every morning from it, he has read easyway a few years ago but didn’t stop. They are both now reading ‘the only way to stop smoking permanently’, and are confident that they can be free. THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU ALLEN CARR!!!! I am already spreading the word of your method and trying to help free others!

I just finished reading “Stop smoking now, without gaining weight” and I cant believe how great I feel. When I have tried to quit in past I would dread social events involving drinks and seeing my smoking friends, however this time using the easy way- I couldnt wait until my next social event, it fuels the elevated feeling you have when you quit as instead of envying your friends, you are pitying them! I have smoked for 10 years, and had many unsucessful attempts at stop, but this time I know I am a non-smoker, and will be for the rest of my life. Jodi, Jersey, Channel Islands, 24.

I owe Allen Carr and those who practice his methods a huge thank-you. As a result of those methods I have stopped both smoking and drinking. Has my life suffered because I now do neither? Not at all! I smoked, now I have cleaner lungs and heart. I drank, now I have a mended liver. And I have so much more energy than I used to. It’s actually a pleasure to get up in the morning – without feeling so fatigued or rough! It may sound unbelievable to some, but I do not miss either a cigarette or a drink. As I said to Chris, who takes some of the clinics, after I attended the session on quitting smoking it was like a psychological tumour had been lifted from my head. Yes, in the beginning it may take a little commitment to begin new habits without a drink or a cigarette, but life is not empty without them. It becomes fuller. They say that true friends are those who help you out in life – in that case those at Allen Carr are true friends. I would recommend anyone who is even half-thinking of quitting alcohol or cigarettes to go along. I promise you won’t regret it, and you have everything to gain.

Hi!
I read the book a few years ago and quit straight away, freed from the weed, but like many others one night whilst a little drunk I sparked up so thought I might aswell finish it as I didn’t enjoy it I’d never have another! WRONG!!!!!!the message obviously hadn’t sunk in as I was soon back onto 10 To 15 a day for a further 5 or 6 years!! :0(
After having broken my leg at the end of 2008 in a skydiving accident I sat on my bum Depressed for almost a year and smoked lots as a result of boredom! Practically healed and skydiving again I realised just how bad that had affected me (I had smoked alot more in a day whilst having a broken leg than normal) also my partner has lost a lot of weight whilst working abroad, it inspired me to do the same! The first step was to stop smoking!
It’s only been a week but it’s worked!
If I’m honest I’d read the book a couple of times and I get bored really quick so I decided to by the DVD from one of the clinics near me! Best £15 I’ve spent!
I’ve had the odd ‘craving’ but I know it’s the little monster in me which makes me smile rather want to bite the head off the next person that spoke to me!
RIP Allan carr you truly are a genious and I thank you for all that you did and all you’ve done on passing this wonderful knowledge so others can pass it on!!!
If only the government would acknowledge it completly and provide even just the book or DVD on the Nhs instead if costing all tax payers a fortune with nicotine replacement therapy!
A smoke free and very happy 26yr old!!!

A smoker from ages 16-24 (damn did i work hard to get addicted to those filthy things :-) I read the book 6 years ago and, like many others, naively thought I had it licked….6 months later I was back on them…
Read it a second time and this time the message seemed to register. Was a non-smoker for 4 wonderful years. Stupidly I lit one about 14 months ago due to personal trauma and was hooked again, until 4 days ago. Third time reading the book and its like the message has finally, finally hit home. I know now that i wont ever smoke again and I feel like crying with joy because of it.
Allen is right, stress is not relieved by it, contentment is not enhanced by it…
Thank you to Allen (RIP) and all the staff that spread the Easyway message. Its a stunningly simple but such an effective message, and I feel like my life will be so much better because of it. I’ve bought copies before for several friends&family members and i’m sad to see them languishing on bookshelves. Perhaps my own lapses made them feel it wouldnt work but hopefully once they see me not going back they’ll give it a shot
Good luck everyone who has kicked the evil weed, remember there iS NO SUCH THING AS ONE CIGARETTE!! Enjoy your smoke-free lives, take deep breaths of wonderful air, climb hills, have energtic sex, revel in your now glowing skin and brightened eyes, never never doubt the decision. I am free, halleluja!!

Hi, Just wanted to say that I read the book and have not smoked since, which is about 9 months now. I think it was really a sensible rhetorical argument against the absurdity of a bad habit.

I’d be happy to elaborate on the experience if anyone is interested.

I continued smoking for another 5 years and decided to book an appointment at The Raynes Park Clinic. That was over a month ago, and I can’t even begin to desribe the feeling of not having to stick those awful things into my mouth again! I knew when I re started smoking that I had nothing to gain from it, but regardless it still took me another 5 years to pluck up the courage to attend.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all involved and would lke to say to anyone thinking about stopping smoking, just do it, YOU HAVE ABSOLUTLY NOTHING TO LOSE, BUT EVERYTHING TO GAIN!

Poco a poco volví a fumar.
En tres años no he vuelto a sentir ningún deseo. Asisto a reuniones donde mucha gente fuma. Amigas han olvidado cigarrillos en mi casa, y permanecen sin tocar hasta que los devuelvo.
¿Es que alguna vez fumé?
Thankyou very much.
My English is not sufficiently good, which is the reason why I write in Castilian. I am Elena Giampieri, of Cordova, Argentina. I smoked daily (40 cigarettes) for 35 years. I never tried to stop smoking nor to cut down the amount. I bought the book in March of 2005, I began the reading. I knew that it could make me stop smoking and I was scared. I left the reading for better moment. I accommodated a pair of things, I chose the summer of 2005-06 and I returned to begin the reading. I read the book concientiously, in a month and a half. I stopped smoking during two months, it surprised me. Little by little I returned to smoke. I considered that I needed more mental work but I had the security that it was possible to turn me into one nonsmoker. I allowed myself to smoke for another year. The following summer I returned to begin the book. I read again but slower. The noticeable passages helped much. The 9 of April of 2007 to midnight I extinguished the last cigarette. In three years I have not returned to feel any desire. I attend meetings where much people smoke. Friends have forgotten cigarettes and left in my house, and I don’t need to touch – I just give back to them. It feels like i never smoked?
Thankyou very much.
