I have been meaning to write for a while, but haven’t managed to until now. Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you. I attended the course on the 24th January this year. Even though I had read the book a few times and agreed with the principles, I had also attended various other courses and used patches and gums on numerous occasion, but never quite succeeded in becoming a non-smoker. So I attended the course a little sceptical that my two years of stuggling to stop smoking were going to be resolved in half a day.
Anyway, so I left the course, was going OK in the afternoon, I went out that evening was a bit fuzzy but was doing OK. I went to an event that was a bit surreal for me with my father, who smokes. So I had a few cigarettes in the car on the way home. I was so disappointed, I was just thinking another course failed. But I said I would start tomorrow which a fresh slate.
So I woke up the next day as a non smoker. And now 4 months later I am a non-smoker. I knew that if I made 3 months then I have done it.
I was quite surprised at how easy it was. The first few days my head was a bit fuzzy and scattered but that was it, no horrible withdrawal pangs nothing. If the thought popped into my head, I knew that it was the little monster dying, which was a thing to rejoice.
I can tell how nice it is to be a non-smoker, I really enjoyed smoking (yes I know there was nothing to enjoy), but I did, but I much prefer and enjoy a 100 times more being a non-smoker.
I now look at smokers and am so grateful that I am no longer caught in the trap and am free to enjoy my life.
Anyway, thank you, am not sure what you did that day, but it worked and I am grateful.
Cheers Karin

I know its only been 10 days since I stopped smoking from your wonderful workshop but I just wanted to say a big thank you because not only was the day surprisingly enjoyable, but the transitionary period afterwards has been great – and really EASY!!. Each day I feel better and better, and stronger and more confident that I am no longer a smoker and it feels BRILLIANT!
I’ve been through all my usual triggers (alcohol, stress etc) and have had no cravings whatsoever – I am over the moon already and 100% confident that I will not smoke again!
So thank you thank you thank you!! It really is a wonderful experience!
Best regards

I Was pregnant and using patches to try and stop smoking for 2 days i was ready to give in and become a slave to the fags again well with my hormones as well as patches it was just making me go crazy!
I then remembered i had once read an Allen Carr book after my sister gave up from reading it but at that point in my life i read a little and put it to one side that side ended up the back of my draw (silly me at the time) so any way got it out of the back of my draw again to read it as an extra incentive for stopping I mean what harm could it do?
Well tunrs out in did me more good than harm as a day later as i was in the bath reading the book it got to a point i got to thiking i don’t want this nasty nicotine going in my body so i wriggled the patch off as they never stuck on well any wayz and after i felt really in control of my body and knew i would not smoke again OR wear a no good patch :) Thank you so much x x x my baby is due 12/12/08 and will be so much more healthy now thanks to this amazing book :)

I quit smoking over 2 years ago after almost 40 years using Allan Carr’s method. It was so much easier than I thought it would be. I was sure I was going to be the last smoker in America. I can’t thank you enough!

After starting smoking, ridiculous as it sounds when i was 26. I have tried to stop ever since. I tried patches, tried cutting down. of course none of this worked. I started reading the easy way book but being such a slow reader i grew inpatient and then i discovered the dvd in the library. Rented it out not thinking too much of it until an hour later when i didn’t want a cigarette again. I haven’t smoke since and feel i have myself back. I am one of those converted non smokers that pushes this dvd every time i hear someone say they want to stop smoking.
Thank you.

I was lucky enough to come across this book (I don’t remember how, it’s been awhile). Smoking was a love/hate relationship and I wanted to quit but couldn’t. I had tried several times to quit and failed, so I assumed I was doomed to be a smoker.
I read his book about 3 years ago, quit smoking, and never looked back. It’s great to be smoke free, and I thank Allen Carr everyday for his help. I don’t think I would have been able to quit without him. Not only that, it was so EASY to stop and I still have no desire to smoke another cigarette!
I always recommend this book to any acquaintances I have who smoke. I’ve considered getting some cards made to hand out with Allen Carr’s info on it :) Thanks Allen for freeing me from smoking, and giving me back my health and life!

Just wanted to say thankyou. I read The ONLY WAY to Stop Smoking and I did. Simple as that. A resigned smoker on 25 a day my habit increasing my health decreasing I read the book and stopped. All the fears, phobias complete hogwash about how hard it is to stop smoking and how difficult it is to rid the body of nicotine craving, turned on its head. My one regret is that I cant thank the man responsible for his help. I hope it is some consolation to Allen’s family that he continues to improve the lives of others on a daily basis. hi, allen.
I just had my last nicotine inducement ie: cigarete. 1 hour ago i was set free from that awfull drug that follows and chases you around the place! I now know how stupid i was smoking my brain away 20+ per day. The book is amazing, the truth is amazing! Truth can be buried for years, yet when its unearthed it hits you full force. It is this positive power that makes it easy to stop. It is the same power that kicks the essence of life back into you. It is this power which will grow and expand untill indeed the avalanche will occure!
Thank a million!

Amazing? Not really, Allen Carr just explains why you do what you do. So in my mind he’s a GENIUS at seeing the simplicity of it. I’ve spent the last twelve months trying to stop myself (successfully) leaving a message on this website. Why? Because ASH state there are no statistics that prove Allen Carrs method Is successful after 12 months. It IS successful and I wanted to write this after 2 weeks of stopping smoking but held off for what is now 14 months. Bottom line Allen Carr is a life saver… THANK YOU!

I’ve been smoking for about 15 years now. When I first heard of this book from a friend I said NO WAY. I’ve seen ads for STOP SMOKING in one hour clinics for some time now but never believed in such things. After I read this book and mind you it took me only 3 nights to read I had stopped smoking the following day and now I’m been off for 4weeks. It feels awesome and I can’t thank Allen enough for this wonderful amazing yet simple book. You are truly a legend.

I have read “Easyway to stop smoking” twice now. The first time was about 2 years ago, but it didnt really sink in….and now I know why – it is simply because I wasnt READY to quit. I have now recently read the book again, and I am proud to say that as of today ( Tuesday 9th September 2008 ) I am now a non-smoker. I have just stopped – it’s as simple as that, I dont need all that crap in my body and I will be healthier, happier and richer – it’s a win-win scenario!!!! I will let you know how I get on, but I am confident when I say that I WILL NEVER SMOKE AGAIN!!!!
Good luck to anyone who is trying or going to give up – give the book a try, even if it doesnt work the first time, when YOU are truly ready to give up, you will take the information in and apply it to your life…this is by far the best way. I personally know of 5 people who have given up with this book, not including myself, and we were ALL heavy smokers…minimum of 15-20 per day.

Just wanted to say a massive thanks for helping me to stop. I feel great. it used to be so horrible, i would tell my children to ‘go away’ or ‘give me 5 mins’ so that i could have a cig, i would avoid hugging and kissing them until i had had something to remove the smell, because i knew i smelt horrible! i used to try and smoke about 3 cigs if i knew i was going without for a while whilst in a place i couldn’t smoke because i felt i would be missing out! what a complete idiot i used to be. Life is easier without the cigs and again thank you.

This book was a real eye opener for me. For years I had been terrified of quitting. Then I read the book and it really was easy to quit smoking! My husband read it … and he quit too!
I have since purchased the book for a friend, my son, and my nephew.
Allen Carr didn’t tell me anything I hadn’t told myself countless times … he just put everything together to present a common sense approach to altering my thinking!
I wish I had read the book years ago!

I am 29 and have a lung disease called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. I have known this for 6 years and still continued to smoke. The Drs. have told me that I will be dead by 40 if I don’t stop.
You saved my life.
I never craved a cigarette. After 14 years of smoking, I just laid them down and walked away. The next day I went to a smoke filled bar and didn’t want one. The smell made me wanna gag and I couldn’t wait to go home and shower. I smelled like an ashtray.
My children and I thank you from the bottom of out hearts. You are a true hero.

Having read Allen Carr’s “How to stop smoking permanently” I haven’t smoked for 23 days! I previously gave up for 12 years using the willpower method and always thought of smoking as a good old friend that I missed. I started smoking again 6 years ago and it hooked me again. However this time I have become free and can see smoking as it really is – a deadly addiction to nicotine that doesn’t do ANYTHING for us! Thank you thank you thank you.

I thank God for Allen Carr’s “Easy Way”. I still went through a few days of withdrawal, but the wonderful thing is that I don’t desire AT ALL to ever smoke again. I had quit twice in the past, and each time “wished” I could have a cigarette sometimes. I thought it would help my stress. After reading his book, I realized that the “stress” it relieves is just the nicotine withdrawal that it created! The rest of my stress is still there.
My husband and I see others smoking and now feel pity rather than envy. It’s just simply amazing. My husband had smoked for 10 years, I had smoked on and off for that long.
We’re done for good and so very thankful!!

You are now a member of my family. You have saved my life. I cry with joy. I am only 29 and I smoked for 18 years. Yes, when children were running the mile, I was standing behind the tennis courts by myself, smoking. I’ve lost so many years, but I know I will never smoke again and I owe that joy to you. I will spread your beautiful wisdom. I will spend the $122 I spent on cigarettes every month on your books for the next year so I can pass them out to friends and family and even strangers! I want to help you change the world. You are my hero. Thank you!

Hello Allen. I had been a heavy smoker for many years and have tried unsuccessfully to quit for many years. I read the first few chapters of your book and that was enough. I’m finally clean from that dirty habit. Haven’t smoked for 2 years, haven’t wanted to smoke and that’s after smoking for about 17 years at 4 to 5 packs a day.
Anyway, I recently read the rest of the book and realized that the rest of the book is excellent also. I would like to purchase a copy for a loved one ..so that I can help other people stop smoking as easy as I did. Thanks.

I stopped smoking before on the method using the book. I started again after i went through a period of intense stress when I thought my job and home were on the line. That was 5 months ago. I had even stopped the year before that using the book. I turned to the book again, apprehensive about the likelihood of success because of previous attempts. I wondered whether the session would be more useful. I called the clinic and was a little alarmed at the price, which I was dismayed to work out was too expensive for me. I then calculated just how much money I would save not smoking and i also weighed up the benefits to stopping. Without doubt they outweighed any concern about the cost in the end! As I was talking on the telephone to the receptionist at the clinic, she told me that obviously something in the book had not been understood by me and that’s why I had started again. I started to think about this and realised that in the end, the success arises from the message getting through and staying there. So, interestingly, I started to read the book again but this time I did it as an experiment. I told myself that the worst that could happen was that it would not work and I would start smoking again. So what did I have to lose? That way, all I had to do was read the book, and I didn’t even have to stop smoking if I didn’t want to at the end. It was a genuine experiment to see if the receptionist had been right. I knew without doubt that in order to really find out the answer, the truth, I had to read the book and let the message in genuinely, with an open mind. I did it and I have stopped smoking a month ago today. It was easy and not at all traumatic. I love being a non-smoker. I clearly have no physical addiction anymore. But two days ago, the 3 year relationship i have been in with someone I have known for over 17 years finally came to an end. I am finding this experience to be incredibly hard and emotional and traumatic. The feeling of loss is palpable and creates such an emptiness. It is very interesting that at this time, I find myself thinking about smoking. I can see that this is a danger zone. But it is a danger zone only because mentally I think it will provide some form of comfort. I am telling myself that it won’t and i know it won’t. At a time when my whole world is turned upside down I am merely trying to find comfort in something. This is especially hard when none of the crutches I had before, my partner, smoking, certain thinking patterns are available to me to cling onto. I feel I stand alone. But the beautiful truth, which I know, is that I can stand alone. I can handle being alone, and smoking simply will not make it any better or make me any stronger. In fact, far from it, had I been smoking at th time the relationship ended I would have all the fears that come with smoking and I would have artificially relied on the weed, believing it was taking away some of the pain. It would not have been doing that but merely creating an ever greater dependency on cigarettes when other aspects of life are hard. That is precisely how cigarettes are marketed. They make you believe you need them when things go wrong. It is the greatest con in the history of marketing. Forgive my anger, but it ranks up there amongst the most disgusting and ugly acts of mankind…EVER! I am so beautifully free of the weed. My pain at the moment is so tough. But in fact the fact that I mentally beat the world’s greatest con artists at their game of trying to get everyone hooked, is more than just a small comfort to me. If I can stand up to that mentally, clearly I can handle pretty much anything and certainly the death of a relationship which meant a lot to me. Because this has taught me that if you push through the fear, greater things always and i mean ALWAYS await you at the other end. I know this message is long, but writing it has helped me immensely. Thanks for reading it!

I`m 62 years old, having been a smoker for over 50 years.Like Allen Carr I had tried to quit many times.
I was directed to Allen Carr’s site via a pro smoking web site.
I downloaded the book “Scandal” and read it begining to end and was so impressed that I then bought the DVD,”EASY WAY TO STOP SMOKING”.
Near to the end of the DVD I was instructed to have my last cigarette which I did having paused the video.I then returned to watch the end of the video without realising that I was already a non smoker, this was at 12.30 18 Feb 2008 and just like Allen did I will always remember this date. After 6 months as a non smoker I now feel qualified to tell others of my experience.
I still visit that pro smoking website, not because I`m pro smoking but because I`m pro choice.
Allen Carr exploded the myths and lies surrounding tobacco and gave me the choice to quit or not to quit, which I never had before.
For this I am eternally grateful.

I purchased and read his literature in Nov, 2006. I was dismayed to hear of Mr. Carr’s demise, It was in late October of that year as I recall.
He brought me full awake to the reality that “right now” is the only and proper time to stop this filthy practice. On Dec 16, 2006 upon arising, I vowed that I would NEVER light up again and to this day (August 15, 2008), after 55 years of unfiltered and in the latter years, roll your own, I have easily abstained. It is so amazing how easy the change was made and also so amazing the changes toward better health that have occasioned since. People, please read his writings. It is a blessing
