I am approaching 3 years as a non smoker…..I smoked at least a pack a day for 35 years, and at age 53, after reading the book, I chose my quit day…quit…and never felt a thing!

I had smoked for 42 years and trying quit more than ten times. So I was convinced that I am not “the case” – the person able to quit. The first amazing thing in Allen Carr’s book was a discovery that I was not the only person in the world longing for cigarets and dreaming about cigarets when tried to reduce or quit. The second thing was, that I do not need any will power to quit! And the third and even better discovery was, that I am non-smoker just now. Thank you for Allen Car, thanks for all the persons working on this website. I have never dream that it would be such a sweet thing to quit smoking!

Read the book for the second time, it obviously didn’t sink in the after the first reading, I finished on Thurs night 6.11.08. It is now Sun 9.11.08 and I haven’t had a cigarette since, it’s been easy, no cravings, no horrible withdrawal symptoms. I feel good and I won’t smoke again. I’m free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been 2 weeks for me that I have quit (last cigarette smoked on 10/25/08). I had been a smoker for 12 years. When I started reading your book I somehow lost the urge to smoke- I was ready to stop and the way you explained the psychology of the addiction made so much sense that I instantly felt very positive about not ever smoking again. Thank you- I wish I read this book sooner!

I ‘gave up’ smoking when I was 22 for 2 years using the ‘willpower’ method. Needless to say I craved and fought constant battles with myself for that whole period. It was pure agony! In the end I fell into the trap of trying ‘just the one’ to see if I was cured and ended up hooked and back on that band wagon again.

Then I started to read the ‘Easyway’ book a few yrs ago,(given by a friend). To which after reading the first 2 chapters found it boringly monotonous and simply stuck it back on my shelf.

I am now 34 and Just 3 days ago I started to read the book again, this time determined that I wanted to stop smoking. And to my amazement I found I could not put the book down right from the start until I reached the last page and had smoked my last dirty roll of filth! (I had a slight panic toward the end of the book and put it down, thinking I would be forever fighting the craving and living a life of pure hell). But I had a word with myself and carried on to the end.

I finished the book today and can honestly say that I have stopped smoking forever and never will again! It is truly amazing,10 hours later and I have not craved once!

I avoided anything and everything to do with Alan Carr in the past, simply because the thought of anything linked to stopping smoking, scared the hell outta me. Now I have finally broken FREE, I wish he were here for me to thank him personally. Although sadly Mr Carr is no longer with us in person, for every one of us that stops smoking helps his memory in us all live on through! He really was a genius and I would like to say a big ‘Thank you’ to him, his family and anyone who ever supported him to go through with this plan and share it with all of us.

He has changed my whole perception, my life and that of many many more.

Enjoy, to those of you just starting the journey!! I won’t say good luck, you don’t need it…It’s Easy!

Hello;

I am amazed. Aspecialy because I tried to quit last weak and the weak before. Serious attempts. I want to become a good singer and better at dancing so i wanted to do something about my smoking. I read the book in less then two days. I’m a fast reader. I did think about it the whole time and offcourse toulk it serious. The strange thing was that after a few chapters I still felt like having one but it didn’t taste good I had to go trough trouble to smoke it. So a couple of sigarettes went out way to early. Without regret. The last sigaret was the worst just like the first. Now i remember. And i instantly felt better lots of energy. And i still think about sigarettes everyone i know smokes but it doesnt bother me. and i dont think about what i’m missing i just think about how i feel. And i feel amazing. This gives me confidence that i can accomplisch anything if and when i pould my mind to it.

The book was recommended to me by a colleague at work, but I didn’t actually read it until after two years had passed.

I’ve tried to “kick the habit” several times in the past, and although I could go for weeks without a drag, eventually I was back to a pack a day.

Now that I’ve read it, I feel great, and I finally see smoking for what it is. I’m a rational person, so once I got it, really got it, that there’s no crutch, no boost, no nothing, the delusion was gone, and it was easy for me to quit. Just like taking those one-size-too-small shoes off, for good.

Thank you, Allen Carr!

Andrei, aged 27 (smoked for 10 years), Minsk, Belarus.

I wanted to say a big thank you (postumously) to Allen.
I’d smoked for 30 yrs, about 20 a day, and although I hated the fact that I smoked, hated the smell, the health damage, the cost etc I had never managed more than a few days without a cig.

I am now coming up for 9 weeks without and I’m so happy about it. The only thing that annoys me is I had the book for months before reading it (probably due to a fear of ‘giving up’)

I am now also on my first week alcohol free, thanks to Allen’s book on controlling alcohol, and again it’s easy!! and so empowering.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! RIP

I’ve just made the decision to stop smoking for the rest of my life. Over the past 17 years, I’ve battled with smoking, often starting again after long periods of not smoking. It was always just one cigarette that was my downfall. I’ve read easyway once before and it got me into the right frame of mind before choosing to become a non smoker. However, this time I’m more certain I’ll be able to avoid the pitfalls. I feel fantastic and wanted to share this with your organisation.

Many thanks also go to Allen for his vision and committment to helping other people make the right decision.

Best regards,

Richard

We should call you ‘Sir’ Allen Carr …

I am on day 27 of being a non-smoker.

I smoked for 8 years from 18-25.

Your book Allen was the first I read since finishing school 8 years ago (and even then I wrote essays on texts I didn’t read fully).

Spending each lunch time and evening with you for about just over a week was a life changing experience.

I feel your pain, that in over 20 years, the (Australian) and other governments don’t promote your book because your clinics were a “commerical business” ... I have a friend quitting on nicotine patches and I am amused at how after 25 days he says to me “still a little hard, but getting there”

Getting where?

Your book teaches you to become a non-smoker whilst you are still doing it.

I will never forget the ‘deep drags’ I took on my final cigarette .. I haven’t inhaled like that ever, probably due to my body/mind teaching to inhale smaller only to be able to cope with such poison.

I’ll post here again in the future with updates.

You are incredible, and I feel like I have met you.

Best regards, and no stale tobacco smell,
Damian – Sydney, Australia

I stopped smoking exactly one month ago today! After 33 years of smoking. It was my 46th birthday, I had my last cigarette at 2pm on Sunday 28th September, 2008. (yes, I was only 13 years old when I started to smoke). Stopping is one of the greatest achievements of my life. I feel so free, it is amazing.
I have just downloaded a copy of SCANDAL and I am looking forward to reading it.
I can not stop talking about the ‘EASYWAY’, doing my best to encourage all of the ones still smoking to read the book and stop.
Cold not resist leaving this comment, sorry, I’m just so proud of myself!

The first two days were awful then all of a sudden the fog started to lift and what Allen said began to make sense!

I was very worried about stopping as I suffer from anxiety and panic but after reading Allen’s book I felt I could not continue smoking any longer.

I will be forever grateful to Allen and consider him to have been a very gifted individual indeed. Thank you Allen from the bottom of my heart.

It’s been a year now since I stopped smoking and life has been so enjoyable.

I used to suffer from depression and anxiety attacks. My life was all about cigarettes. Since stopping smoking I have a new higher paying job, more responsibilities, I know how to swim, I’m learning to drive and doing a degree in business studies – I’m paying attention to my life now, and it’s just keeps getting better and better. The depression and anxiety stopped with the cigarettes.

I really believe that smoking causes mental health issues – and it’s not the act of self medicating, but the cigarettes that are causing the problem.

I hope all of you who are reading the book, please trust me and learn everything from it! :)

Last smoke yesterday. Today I had horrible day and normally that would mean about 40 smoked fags. But I understood that they don’t make my situation better and even when I think to smoke i say NO.I think that the most important thing is that the book tell us not to be afraid of fallness. If you even fall you dont loose anything, but when you try you got so much to win. I start smoking 17, now I am 24. Since about 3 years everyday I tried to stop.Gums, motivation from my girlfriend, my motivation, nothing help. This book is fantastic – that is all I want to say. When smoking last cigarette in my life I was crying from happiness:) Good luck everyone! Good bless You Allen! R.I.P.

I had been a confirmed smoker for fifteen years and smoked about thirty cigarettes a day there toward the end. I stumbled upon the book by accident, and decided to give it a shot since nothing else had worked for me. I began reading the book on a Monday and finished the last chapter and my last cigarette that Friday. I’ve been completely astounded by the fact that not once have I wanted a cigarette, thought about smoking, even while being around my friends and family that still smoke. No one ever believed that I had really quit, thinking that it was just too easy. Now they are all asking me to show them how I did it. I thank you dearly for opening up my eyes.

Dear Mr. Carr,
I would like to thank you for helping me stop smoking two years ago and stop drinking for the last two months with your wonderful books and your astonishing system.
I myself was amazed at how easy I found quitting something that had me enslaved for the last 20 years or so. I was a HEAVY smoker and a fairly hard challenge for anyone who tried to talk me into quitting. Reading your book once was all it took to stop. After that and under my wife’s insistance I finally read the drinking book too and … even more astonishingly had the same result.
In order to partially repay you for your gift I’m talking all those that ask for help into buying and reading your books or attending the easyway seminars.
Thank you for your help
Yours sincerely

My husband borrowed the book from a work colleague and as my husband hates reading, he asked me to read it to him, which I did a bit every night. I had no intention of giving up at the time as I loved my cigs!
As I read the book I slowly came to believe that I too might be able to stop.My husband stopped a couple of months before me but we have both been stopped 4 yrs this year – I will stay stopped too as I never intend ever to put a cigarette in my mouth.
Both my parents died of smoking related diseases aged 52 and 54 so it has given me hope – thank you xx

Dear Allen,

I waited to be sure but I have now been 16 months – yes 1 YEAR & 4 MONTHS without a cigarette between my lips. But the best news is it has not been hard. I have no desire to smoke. My husband could not believe how there was no personality change in the early days, I was happy balanced, normal (In the past he had gone as far as go out late at night buy a pack and tell me to smoke them before we divorced). I was the last of the “die hard” smokers, no one was going to tell me I could or could not smoke – I had rights – I smoked for 42 years.

My Doctor recommended the book, he had never smoked but he read it after it was mentioned by a few patients and his comment was the man makes a lot of sense, the medical profession should listen to him.

I also want to put to rest one huge myth and this is important. For all those smokers out there who insist it is their crutch and helps them get through the trials of life. In May I lost my 31 year old daughter to cancer throughout her body, it was the nightmare no mother should never have to go through. Everyone expected and would have accepted if I had started smoking again because of the stress I was under. I never ever considered it – I can’t even stand the smell of it anymore.

Thank you for this – I could say where have you been most of my life but I had the book for a year before I read it because the reality is you have to want to quit for yourself not anyone else. I started the book thinking I smoked for my satisfaction, I finished the book livid that I was at someone else’s (the nasty monster) whim.

In closing I want you to know I buy this book for all family and friends that say they really want to quit I think it is worth it. Thank you for giving my breath back and freeing me from the monster.

It took me a day and a half to read Allen’s book, I was so excited about gettng to the end so I could smoke my last cigarette and become a non-smoker.

There were tears of joy rolling down my cheeks as I looked in the mirror in my hotel room and shouted, YIPPEE I am a non-smoker. I know I will never have one more puff as long as I live and I am so excited about being free of the smell, the taste and the ill side affects of the weed. I have been to the Gym everyday since I escaped I feel so so so darn good and so full of energy.

What I do not understand is why it has taken me so long to find this book, I stumbled across it by chance whilst I was in Barnes and Noble, you can guess what every smoker I know is getting for a Christmas present from me this year. I don’t care if they read it now or later, I just want them to tell me when they are ready to quit they open the book and hey presto another happy, yes happy, non-smoker.

There should be commercials on TV exepcially during prime time and even in the superbowl -just to tell people when they are ready, they can read Allen’s book, laugh out loud, and cry shamelessly when they realise Allen has made them a non-smoker for ever and ever.

God Bless this dude, St Allen for President or King or something

I read the book, and it is like magic. I can’t believe it – I’ve smoked for more than half my life, just like my parents, just like their parents . . . The idea of quitting, of ‘depriving’ myself of something everyday for the rest of my life made me think I’d never be able to break free. And now, I love being a non-smoker. Something I thought would be impossible was easy, and I enjoyed it, and am enjoying it every day . . .

I can’t express how much I owe to this book!

A short note to thank you for the session on Saturday and your powerful, professional and easy to understand delivery of facts about smoking.

Pack a day to zero. Can’t quite believe myself.

A rather unexpected benefit that has come out the course is related to Anxiety. For several months now, I have been suffering panic attacks, and my general level of anxiety is high. I can’t tell you what a different person I feel already and it’s only Monday morning. I believe there is such a strong link here and it’s one of the first things I have noticed that has changed since I stopped smoking, a wonderful feeling too, I must add.

Feeling very confident that I will never smoke or be tempted to smoke ever again.

Thank you for helping me to regain my life.
