3 Years off the fags now. I wanted to write this endorsement on the 1st August which is the third anniversary of me quitting but as I don’t think of myself as an ex smoker anymore I almost forgot to write this thank-you

THANK YOU again Allen Carr!

I attended the Allen Carr clinic in London a month ago and I cannot believe how amazingly easy it has been to stop smoking. I didn’t write ‘give up’ smoking because fundamentally I don’t feel like I’ve given anything up at all. There are only benefits. Best £220 I have ever spent. Now I just want all my smoking friends and family to do this so they can see for themselves how easy it can be!

3 weeks in and feel like a non smoker not someone who is giving up. Would recommend Allen Carr and indeed have become quite evangelical about it and urging all and sundry to get with this programme now.

I have tried to quit so many times and it has always been hard, and a horrible process for me. Reading your book really changed things for me. I cant believe that I am now a non smoker, with absolutely no desire to smoke ever again. I am telling all of my smoker friends about this and I hope that they will read the book. It really has been amazing. Thank you so much!!

Today it’s a third week I have quit smoking. And I feel great! Just like the first mourning after reading a book, I can say I dont need a cigarette anymore. But my third day was real hell. I am very open minded and I knew it will be a challenge at some point. I was all in tears! It felt very weird, such a strange feeling that I need something but dont know what. In the end I cried for cigarette (they didnt gave me :)) and then I got it: I dont never, ever want to smoke again. Simply as that. I had a dream about smokig and I was not enjoying it. I’m an architecture student from Serbia and I want to thank you and say that your book is so precious to me.
Thank you very much!

Hi!! I’m Caroline and I’ve been a non-smoker for 10 minutes now!! I feel physically sick having smoked that last cigarette, not in a bad way if you understand where I’m coming from!!! I’ve had to brush my teeth, wash my hands and make a drink to take the ending sensation away, yuk!!! I’m now sat gagging as my boyfriend smokes and I’m looking at my Walls thinking that I can’t wait to give them a fresh lick of paint!!! The book is actually my boyfriends, until this weekend it had never been read!! Someone told me about the book when I told them I wanted desperately to stop smoking – I thought hang on I actually have a copy if that book at home!!!! I didn’t think I’d get anything from the book right up until I smoked that last cigarette!!!! Caroline, Halifax, UK :-D

Thank you.
My gratitude for the man who wrote that book is more immense than words can describe.
After numerous failed efforts at quitting a was suggested the easyway by a friend and haven’t touched a cigarette in 4months.
The incredible part was that from the moment of killing that last smoke, i felt liberated, knowing that i will never smoke again.

Thank you Mr Allen Carr – R.I.P.

I stopped smoking on July 28, 2009. I started smoking at age 14 and was totally addicted by age 17. (I am now 47) Cigarettes were more important to me than food. A co-worker talked about the book in 2001 (as we smoked outside in the company smoke shelter). She said it worked for her for about 6 months. Of course, I ran out and bought the book, read the first chapter and stuck it in a drawer. Fast forward to 2009. My son (a new Dad) wanted to quit smoking. I said “I have a book that’s supposed to help”. He read the book and stopped. He took the book to his work and would say “so and so read the book and quit” or “Becky read the book and quit”. When he said “B____ read the book and stopped” (B____ was 57 years old and smoked 2 packs a day), I said “Give me my book back”. I read the book and stopped. Nobody could believe it. I always said I would be the woman outside the hospital with an IV cart smoking. I may at some point have an IV cart but I won’t be outside. It has been 402 days. In those 402 days, I have been through many stressful situations and never once thought about having a smoke. Long flights are relaxing. Long car rides are relaxing. I sleep in later. My dentist gives me more respect. My favourite wine didn’t taste quite as good but I found another one I liked. I like breathing deeply. I scoff at NRT commercials. My husband could not believe how happy I was when I stopped. (He has never smoked). Sorry for how long this is. My company has purchased copies of this book for the library and they promote it. I know of at least 7 people this book has worked for. I also tried the Nintendo DS game before I read the book. It started the ball rolling. My daughter-in-law read the book for women and stopped. She is at 400 days. If you are still smoking, READ THE BOOK. If you don’t agree with or don’t understand a chapter, read it again…and again…and again. I NEVER thought I would be a non-smoker. But, I am and I owe it all to Allen Carr.

Please find attached my email to my local MP and his reply to me. Hope this helps –

Hi Mr Metcalfe,
How are you?
Just thought whilst I am on my high horse and still jumping on the bandwagon I thought I should also share 1 more important thing with you after speaking with my husband.
I have just finished rather aggressive radiotherapy following thyroid cancer diagnosis. Hopefully the miracle radioactive pill I swallowed in Southend hospital on the 17th August will be my cure. I was kept in solitary for 4 days unable to leave room or have visitors as I was a public health concern. It was the most mentally challenging thing I have ever done in addition to being on a cancer ward with extremely poorly patients of which I have vowed never to return to again (fingers crossed).
Ok rewind 25 years when I smoked my first cigarette. 24 years on and with a cancer diagnosis under my belt finally found the courage not to be a slave to nicotine addiction any more. Having been on patches and inhalers since Jan 2010 recommended by the NHS of which I was still using till the 16th August 2010. ( by the way I was not offered the drugs to stop smoking as I was placed in a venerable category and refused.)

I knew that
a) I was entering a room for a min of 4 to max. of however long, of which I was unable to smoke and
b) if I was ever in my life going to give up the most addictive dangerous drug on the planet now was my time to do so.

So what did I do. I read a book. Allen Carr’s the easy way to give up smoking. £2.50 off Amazon. Finished the book on the eve of the 16th August 2010.

I have received no withdrawals, no metal punishment and feelings of deprival etc.

The moral of this story Mr Metcalfe. The government are asking the masses what can we do to save money.

I put it to you.

1 weeks nicotine patches (NRT) £16 approx
42 inhalators (1 weeks supply) £23 approx.
So £40 a week it has cost me to attempt to supplement my nicotine addiction. For the last 8 months £320.00. (all approx. Figs. You understand)
For persons who do not pay for their prescriptions – £320 is what it costs the tax payer per person.

In addition to this what about
The advertising cost
The cancer and smoking related hospital treatment costs.

My point?

1 £2.50 book from Amazon PRICELESS. It works. I needn’t do the maths as you will see where I am going with this.

My frustration?

The government will not and have not ever acknowledged this book or the author even though he has sold 9 million copies worldwide. Why wont the government offer this instead of expensive patches that do not work because they continue to feed the drug nicotine to the dependent addict. For as long as the addiction is being fuelled the addiction continues. Sever the supply the addiction is lifted.

I cannot believe nor my family or husband that I am free of the addiction after reading a book. The power of the mind.

This is my suggestion of how the govt. Can save a LOT of money. I am in no way linked to this network or receiving financial gain by promoting the book to you. I just want to shout from the roof tops how easy it is and if the book is backed by govt will save lives and money both of which are precious.

With Kindest regards
Lisa Palmer

And the reply –

Lisa
Thank you for the email, I hope they contact you soon, if not please let me know.
Sorry, yes I did read the email about giving up smoking and I am delighted it worked for you.
I will pass you comments on to the relevant health ministry and suggest they look closely at the book.
Once again thank you for your email and please don’t hesitate to contact me again on this or any other issue.
Best wishes

Dear Allen,

Do you get e-mails in heaven? My name is Aly & I’ve been enjoying a smoke-free life for over 3 years now. I had to write and thank you. Tears of gratitude are streaming as I write….THANK YOU!

I stole my first cigarette from my parents at age 11. I smoked regularly by 16 and a pack a day by 18. When I quit at 39, I was smoking 2 packs a day.

I thought I’d be one of those people who unhooks their oxygen mask to take another puff.

I tried hypnosis, acupuncture, cold turkey, tapering off, group seminars, Reiki, the patch, the gum, wellbutrane, religious healers, I prayed,I received prayer, I even flew from FL to CA to see a pulmonary MD that specialized in smoking cessation. I genuinely wanted and tried to quit for over 10 years. Throughout that time my beautiful husband quietly supported me, never insisting, but always encouraging. Once during a “quitting week” my oldest boy Johnny said “I’d rather have a grouchy mom than no mom” —-I had NO reason to smoke except that I couldn’t stop….until THIS book.

Allen, you saved my life. I’m a better person, a better wife, a better mother, a better friend because I’m no longer chained to my addiction.

Thank You Allen & God Bless You!!!!
With love & gratitude,
Aly Evans

I was scared to finish the book because it had worked on so many people I know and didn’t think it was working. I have stopped smoking many times before but never felt like a non smoker like I do now. It should be compulsary to have read this book before you are allowed to buy cigarettes.

It has been almost 11 months since I quit thanks to Mr. Carr’s book. Although I was a only a 6 cigarette a day smoker, I absolutely looked forward to those cigarettes, an addict is an addict!
In the past I had quit for 3 months here, 4 months there but during those times, I was always craving for a cig.
Thanks to the Easyway book, I had very few craving and after one month, I had zero cravings. Now I’m free of the smell, free of the addition, free of the unbelievable cost ($12.00 a pack in NYC), I just feel free.
I highly recommend this book, it worked for me after 35 years of this “consuming” habit.

Many friends joining me, cant pass the book around fast enough, ( I live in Costa Rica in a tiny town in the Southern Caribbean zone). I have the only copy here I think, and there are many smokers here… working on getting a copy in Spanish for our local friends.

I am writing to thank you for the book. I finished today, I didn’t want my last cigarette as I stopped smoking yesterday but wanted to follow the instructions properly. I don’t know if it was the day without smoking or the book but it was so vile I was very nearly sick! However I realise it is not the physical sickness that is the reason I am now a happy non-smoker, it is the education from the book. I am a single mother of a 4 year old boy and the thought I could die early and he’d be left alone was killing me (ironically as the cigarettes probably would have). I feel absolutely liberated now of this addiction and am not scared at all of cravings, bring it on nicotene monster! I have ‘given up’ using will power before so stupidly thought that meant i could easily do it again, 4 years later my friend recommended this book which is the reverse to all my preconceptions – any way I wont go on! I will be keeping my copy and have 4 friends and 3 younger family members who will be getting their own copy! Thank you so much!!!

Read the book over a couple of nights. Just read it because it has been on my bookshelf for a few years (a gift from an ex.)Followed the instructions and not had a cigareete since – now over two weeks. I haven’t pined for one either. I used to smoke up to 20 a day FOR 25 YEARS, more with alcohol. I have to admit I am utterly dumbfounded. I just followed the instructions and it felt like an automatic stop button had been actuated. Was so easy it is spooky!!! Nw a very happy man and doing my best to spread the word. Mr Allen is a genius!

Hi to all involved at Easyway and especially to the man himself..Alan Carr.

Where do i start , and what do i write that you havent heard before.

I am 37 years old and have been smoking since about 14 years old. I’ve tried most of the methods – patches, hypnotism, champix , willpower and been successful for an amount of time but have always gone back to the cigs. After reading the easyway book , i have now stopped for 2 and half weeks and already know , hand on heart , that i will never touch them again. The difference this time is the fact that i simply don’t want to. All the other times , i wanted to smoke but fought against it. (for so long).

All i want to say is thank you!!

I can’t believe all the time i was smoking and trying to stop, i was never told about Alan Carr’s easyway. i had visited my GP and attended community stop-smoking sessions and never once was i informed of your method. I personally feel cheated of a large proportion of my life and only hope and pray that nothing bad is growing inside me from the years of smoking.
I actuallly stumbled accross the method whilst doing an internet search about stopping smoking. It mentioned the book and i started to read the book through amazon interactive. I was hooked and purchased a used copy for 1p and £2.75 postage.(small price for such a life changing experience).

i had planned to already stop smoking through willpower after my holiday in Turkey on 23th August 2010. Holidays are a time i used to really enjoy (or thought i enjoyed) smoking so i didn’t think it possible before. I finished reading the book on 2nd August 2010 and quit instantly. Unbelievable!!!
I now go on holiday in 3 days and can’t wait for a smoke free time.

Anyway , i now make it my mission to inform every single smoker i know, about your book. I might even write to the government and explain my experience.
People i speak to all have never heard of the method and seem amazed at my experience. Most have asked to borrow the book. At the time i say ok but never will the book leave my possession…not for a while anyway. Everyone who asks to borrow it , i normally get their address and pay the measly price and order them a book off amazon. Hopefully , they might buy me a beer sometime to say thank you.

OK ….enough of my rambling…i guess you could say , i’m a happy non-smoker thanks to ALAN CARR and easyway. I just wanted to show my appreciation and let you know the snowball is still rolling.

many many thanks

I am a 60 year old Master’s prepared Community/Public Health Nurse. I had smoked for 42 years, at least 20 cigarettes a day. I read Allen Carr’s book and smoked my last cigarette 6 days ago. Yippee I’m a nonsmoker. My friends, family and coworkers are amazed. I never refrained from smoking for 6 hours let alone 6 days!

I live in NYC. My primary care provider sent me to accupunture who included Allen’s book with the treatment. I’m so happy but so sad about all the years I wasted smoking, if only I had known how easy it could be.

I attended the Raynes Park Clinic on the 30th August 2007, an amazing 3 years and 2 days ago and I have been smoke free ever since. It is one of the best things I have ever done in my life. Stopping smoking is actually so easy to do and such a relief to know that I have cracked it. One thing that I think is very important is to actually really WANT to stop yourself, as it has to come from you. If you are reading this, just go for it you have everything to gain!! Alex.

I read the EasyWay to Stop Smoking in September 2008 and I haven’t touched a cigarette since – and had no cravings nor wanted one. It is not that cigarettes repel me now, but rather that I was rendered completely indifferent to them after reading this book. I just feel like I wasted so much time and money and resources on smoking for over 13 years – I wish I had read this book when I was in my early twenties. If my children ever start smoking I will give them this book.

Last year diagnosed with thyroid cancer had cancer removed bit still smoked.

I write this while sitting on hospital bed having radiotherapy with iodine. I am in solitary confinement unable to leave for a fag

I read the easy way to stop smoking after my fiance read it and quit. I was struck by the fact that she seemed to be suffering from no withdrawal symptoms. I read the book and quit shortly after reading the segment on taking six deep drags and “relishing the taste” i have had some hard battles with the “big monster” in my head, and am currently rereading the book, but the one thing that keeps me from actually lighting up a cigarette is the memory of those six drags, what they tasted like, what they felt like, and most importantly what i felt about my self while i was smoking. Thank you so much for helping me get free of something i have hated about myself all my life. Thank you.

I started reading the ‘Only way to stop smoking permanently’ a few years ago thinking there was no way I’d stop. After a few chapters I had to stop reading because it was working! Two years ago I picked it up again, thinking I had nothing to lose, and completed it. If there was a magic phrase that would let people understand how fantastic you feel after stopping using this method I would write the words here. The point is that the words contained in the book are the key. Thank you.

I stopped smoking 5 years ago. I had tried every method under the sun with of course no sucess and was left with a feeling of been a complete failure. I read the book about 7 years ago and i carried on smoking i think at this point i was only kidding myself that i really did want to give up my 25 a day habit ! Then a chance remark by a doctor to the effect of ok I was fine now but did i want to be on an oxygen mask in 10 yrs – this made me realise that this is serious stuff and I do need to do something about it, so as luck would have it i still had the book and began reading it ! how could I have failed the 1st time it was so logical – hense i was happy to give away my 300 duty free fags to someone and told them not to give them back to me and they were not mentioned agin until about a year later when the friend asked me what he should do with the fags!!! – I had forgotton all about them.
About 2 years ago I read the controlling drinking book and again kept on drinking but having piled weight on and after a very bad year emotionally i realised that this too was getting silly so i bought the book again, I have still to read to the end about 10 pages left – but i am already there have not had a drink for the last 5 nights and dont even want one- its that easy.
Will the slimming book work? – why not i read it once and nothing – but with my track record 2nd time lucky – next job to go and buy it again – money very well spent !!

Up until a few days ago – I have smoked 20 cigarettes a day for the last almost 6 years. I’m coming up to 22 years old, and am getting married in 8 weeks time. A client of mine insisted I gave the book a read, and quite rightly said “What do you have to lose by reading it?”

I thought this client was senile. There is no way with planning a wedding and running a business that I can give up my only stress relieving vice? Oh how wrong was I!
The first few chapters I was still convinced that it was all a complete con, and kept saying how can this possible work??

Until, around half way through the book, everything changed for me. The taste of a cigarette was literally repulsive!! I continued to smoke til I had finished, but each time I lit one thought to myself “ Really? Why am I doing this!”

It is completely fascinating that reading a book can change so much! I have passed my strong reccomendations on to every single smoker I know, and also to my local NHS clinic. This book is a revelation!! And has quite possible saved my life – Allen – your a legend! I hope your dieting one works just as well!

I had no intention of stopping smoking but my husband and daughter had quit the previous year so the pressure was on. I thought I’d read ‘The Book’to shut them up and say ‘look I tried’. Anyway, i started reading. On 20th Oct 2008 I was coming to the end of it. I had 4 smokes left in the tin so smoked those whilst I read the last few pages. And that’s it. I haven’t smoked or wanted to since. No one was more surprised than me.So try it you have nothing to loose. The thing I love the most is the freedom I have. No more where can I have a fag?’ etc. Thanks to Alan I am a free woman.Hurrah!

I celebrated last saturday 7/08 ONE YEAR FREE OF NICOTINE!!! I am so glad, and also feel very secure I won’t fall again in the future.

After a couple of months I was so entusiastic (and proud of the money I saved avoiding to spend more than 5 euros a day…) I ordered 10 copies of the book, they cost the price of a box of cigarette in France. So far I have offered 9 of the copies to friends and colegues. So far no one has called me to tell me it worked, a pitty but maybe one day…

Thanks Mr Carr, rest in peace, you did find the right words for people like me at least! THANK YOU!!!

Hello,

I was a pack-a-day smoker for 20 years. I had attempted quitting in the past but failed.

My girlfriend gave me Allen Carr’s book, and I read it over the course of 4 days. I finished reading the book, smoked a couple more hours, and then I quit. I said to myself, “Gabe, whether you like it or not, you have smoked your last cigarette.” I have not smoked a single puff since that moment. That was three months ago. It was not hard to quit, though it took quite a bit of concentration: not a bit difficult, however.

I feel excellent physically. I just feel great. I am calmer, and I feel just terrific.

Greetings from New York City!!! I don’t smoke anymore!!!!!!

Gabe
