From: Robin Hayley, Worldwide Managing Director, Allen Carr’s Easyway, London. England
Dear Allen,
You were not only my business partner but also my close friend and father figure. I have been incredibly lucky to know you and Joyce and will never be able to repay the trust both of you showed me by naming me as your successor and placing your extraordinary method in my hands. Together, with our amazing worldwide team of dedicated therapists, I will ensure that your method continues its phenomenal success and we will all strive to achieve the goal that you have set us in your organisation: to cure the world of smoking.
Allen, you were one of a kind – a truly exceptional person – and you will be greatly missed.
With love..
From: John Dicey, Worldwide Director, Allen Carr’s Easyway, London, England.
Allen – I am finding it difficult to find the correct words – after all – you gave us all the right ones to help you cure millions of smokers. I will never forget the job description that you and Robin asked me to write for myself – which ended up simply reading: TO CURE THE WORLD OF SMOKING. Joyce, Madi and the whole family, my thoughts and prayers are with you, along with those of everyone else involved with Allen’s quest throughout the world. As promised to Allen, today’s news will not break our stride in achieving that. Thank you so much.
From : Sue Bolshaw, Accounts Mgr, Allen Carr’s Easyway Head Office, London, UK.
Thank you so much for your wonderful method Allen. You have changed my life in the most amazing way, both personally and professionally. All my love goes to Joyce and your whole family today. Wishing you love and respect always, Sue.
From : Jim McCreadie, Trainee Therapist, Allen Carr’s Easyway, Glasgow
Dear Joyce and family,
I have been deeply saddened by today’s news of Allen’s death. I first heard of Allen 15 months ago when I was still smoking occasionally and could not quite get off the hook completely. I immediately bought a copy. Smoking induced lung cancer stole my father from me when he was only 54 and I was only 23. Within 2 days I had read the book and here I am 15 months later smoke free and loving my life again more than I could ever had imagined. Not only has Allen’s wisdom changed my life but it has also changed the life of my wife, my two daughters and all my family – put simply I no longer have to worry about leaving my family in the same state of distress as I was when my father died. I get up every morning and feel happy to look my kids and wife in the eye knowing I have made the best decision of my life.
The impact Allen has had on my life and the many millions of people who have successfully quit is immeasurable and its tears at my heart to think that he was never recognised at the highest levels of power for his achievements. I want to do my own bit to help this cause and have been in training to become a therapist in Scotland. I have my first session planned for February and when I do take to the floor I will spare a thought for the wonderful man who put me there in the first place
May god bless you all and take immense comfort in the legacy Allen has left behind.
With deepest sympathy and thanks to Allen.

Dear Joyce,
It was with deep sorrow that we learned of the death of Allen, a great therapist and a wonderful man.
Please accept on behalf of our Czech and Slovak team our sincere condolences over the loss of a man whose work and personality will long be remembered.
Please convey our sympathy to all family.
From : Kim Bennett, Therapist, Easyway Buckinghamshire
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is a privilege to have met you, to work under your name, to share your passion (which was incredible) for your work, to be part of something so amazing. My life has literally been transformed since I stopped smoking – little did I realise that it would be so easy and not only that, but that it would permeate every area of my life in such a positive way. I have never been so proud to work for anyone as I have been to work for you. I trust that your dream will come to fruition and that one day we will see a world without smoking. You have certainly played a massive part in bringing that dream closer to becoming a reality. My sympathies go to your family.
From : Colleen Dwyer, Corporate Sales Development, Allen Carr (International)
Dear Joyce and family,
Although expected, the news of Allen’s death is still so shocking and upsetting, your hearts must be breaking. It’s been said millions of times before and I am just another person whose life has been totally changed because of Allen but I feel compelled to thank you again anyway.
I dread to think of what the world would have been like without Allen. In my seminars I say ‘if Allen Carr hadn’t discovered the secrets of the smoking trap it could have remained a mystery to this day’, what a horrible thought. Allen has touched so many peoples lives and he has changed them for the better, not just the smokers but their families and friends.
I feel totally privileged to have known you and Allen and enjoyed his great humour and insight at all the wonderful Haxted conferences. When I first met him, I was a bit in awe of him and nervous, but he was so down to earth and charming.
I also feel privileged to be playing my part in achieving Allen’s goal to cure the world of smoking. Allen was an incredible man, a superb example of nature’s work and he will be so missed.
I am thinking of you all at this sad time.
Colleen

I would just like to send my very best wishes to Joyce and the family and say that although we are all mourning Allen’s death, I also believe it is a time to celebrate his life and the lives of the estimated ten million he has helped to ameliorate through his clinics and books.

I just wanted to pass on a few words of comfort that i know helped me when my mum passed away earlier this year. If you could be so kind as to pass them on with my and my family’s deepest condolences i would appreciate it.
You can shed tears that he is gone
Or you can smile because he has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him
Or it can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and think only of yesterday
Or you can be happy tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on
You can cry, close your mind, be empty and turn your back on life
Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love, live life and go on.

Dear Joyce
It is with genuine grief that we are writing to express our condolences to you and your family on your tragic loss. Over the five years that we have known Allen, his warmth towards us, and the interest he showed in us, has been a source of great pride. Not only was he a source of immense inspiration, but we also give full credit to him for enhancing and prolonging our lives on this planet. Further, we also think of him as a very good friend who provided fantastic support to us running our Easyway clinics, and extended this support and interest in us in other aspects of our lives quite unrelated to Easyway. Allen was a wonderful man with great charisma, humour, passion and generosity and his loss is deeply felt by both of us; we will miss him and will always remember him with great affection.
We look forward to seeing you soon and expressing our condolences in person. In the meantime our thoughts are with you and we send you our love and best wishes.
From : Tara Evers-Cheung, Allen Carr’s Easyway Northern Ireland
I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Allen’s wife Joyce and his family at this time of immense grief.
I am but one of millions of people around the globe that has Allen to thank for my improved quality of life as a happy non-smoker. It is my privelege to forge ahead with his vision in Northern Ireland. While no words will console you at this time, I hope that you can take some solace in the well wishes of Allen’s global team of therapists, friends, members of the public that have Allen to thank for their lives and know that one great man has left a marvellous legacy to mankind.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May Allen rest in peace.
From : Cris Hay, Therapist, London
Dear Allen
I will never forget you. You had the most profound and revolutionary effect on my life. It’s not just that you helped me to stop smoking: the wider implications of your quite extraordinary method enabled me to start living life to the full – and in this of course you led by example. When I reflect on the fact that if it weren’t for your influence I would still be lanquishing in AA meetings sixteen years on – assuming of course that I hadn’t returned to drinking – I realise just how fortunate I was to discover your writings. But as well as being a brilliant writer, you were also a kind, warm and gentle man, with a wonderfully dry sense of humour, and to have known you personally has been a blessing indeed. The world is a poorer place for your passing, but an infinitely richer one for your having lived. Today’s sad news has made me redouble my resolve to give everything I’ve got to passing on the message.
Like you I favour no one particular religion, but whenever I hear the following passage I always think of you, and the wonderful effect you have had and will have on so many lives.
‘When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.’
Thank you Allen for helping me to put away childish things. If there is a heaven I am quite sure that alcohol does give genuine pleasure there, that there are no hangovers, and that you are already at the bar with a joke on your lips, helping the other angels solve their problems!
My heart goes out to Joyce, Madi and the rest of your family.
You were one in a million, Allen.

Dear Joyce and family,
We were deeply sorry to hear the news of Allen’s passing this
morning. To say that the world has lost a genius can simply never be overstated, and as one of the converted faithful I for one will be forever grateful to you both for giving us Easyway. I was so glad that I got to meet you both at Haxted during the summer, and express my gratitude to the great man in person.
I know you all must feel totally desolate at your loss at this time,
but believe me, I for one will strive to keep Allen’s legacy alive
and strive to reach as many smokers as I possibly can in the coming years.
My heart, thoughts and sincere condolence’s are with you all at this desperately sad time.
God bless you Allen, rest in peace sir.

Dear Joyce and family
I just want to say thank you for your lifelong support of Allen and his wonderful work. I guess that Allen himself would have been the first to admit that without your support he could never have made such an invaluable contribution to so many other people’s lives throughout the world.
I literally consider him my saviour and that will never change. Like millions of others, I owe Allen a debt of gratitude that can never be fully repaid.
As it is for all his therapists, Allen’s work is now our work, and I will strive together with my colleagues to reach the goal Allen has set us – TO CURE THE WORLD OF SMOKING.
In loving memory

Hi,
Im sure this will only reflect what everyone else has
to say on the sad subject of Allens passing, but like
so many I owe so much to one man,and had the
priveledge of being a part of his organisation as the

hope and giving the greatest gift of all , the abilty
to be free from cigarettes.
I share this thought with you all: there are few in
this world who leave behind such a great legacy and
one day EASYWAY will be recognised. There is no such

Dear Joyce,
Please accept this short and inadequate note to say how sad I was to hear the news of Allen this morning. But to say you and all your family are all very much in all our thoughts today and throughout this difficult time. If it is of any comfort, his legacy will be remembered and continued for many years to come as the person above any other single person in the world who has contributed the most to helping rid the world of smoking.
I have no doubt he will continue to direct proceedings from up there with his usual good grace and impeccable judgment keeping us all on the straight and narrow.
With kindest regards,

Just a short note to say how sad, I along with millions of other are at the sad news.
To say Allen and his method saved my life seems dramatic but its true. I would never have stopped smoking if it wasn’t for Allen Carr.

Dear Friends,
It is so sad to hear this news… We are happy that we had the opportunity to meet Allen and that we could experience his warmth and openness.
For both of us, his method is not only a way of quitting smoking – it also became a turning point in our life and a way of starting it all over again.
This is the mystery of Allen Carr’s Easyway – the moment you quit smoking, something new begins for you. Allen helped thousands of people to free themselves from smoking and from their addiction.
But what is the most important – he helped them to feel free again and find the strength to face new challenges and achieve great things.
We shall continue and develop his message here in Poland.
We believe that Allen is happy on HIS NEW WAY.
Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Joyce, Madi and family
We were so saddened to hear that Allen is no longer with us. I have been struggling since I heard yesterday to find words that could adequately express our sadness and sense of loss. Allen has had such and impact on my life that I can only just begin to touch on how grateful I am that he had the genius to discover the Easyway method and the courage to keep going. Like all great men his legacy will prove his greatness. He has empowered so many of us to carry on where he has left off. I am proud to have known him and honoured that he has entrusted me with the task of carrying his message forward in Scotland. I consider myself a very lucky man that I can continue his work for the millions of smokers yet to be helped by his method.
He was a truly gentle man whose dry humour and ready smile will never be forgotten by me. Our thoughts are with you all during this very sad time.

To Joyce and all the Family of Allen Carr
It is with deepest sympathy I extend our heartfelt condolences to Joyce and all the family of Allen.
Dawn and I have had the very great honour and privilege to know Allen personally for over ten years. He was a great man and no one could underestimate the affect he has had, and will continue to have, on many millions of people across the world. He was responsible for saving our lives from a miserable existence as smokers, I wish it could have been possible to thank him again.
The world was a brighter place with Allen, but we will continue to carry the torch in his name.
He will be sadly missed.
Paul Melvin, Therapist, Easyway Scotland
To Joyce and Family,
Allen, you were an inspiration to me. Years ago, I thought that quitting smoking was incredibly difficult to do, and with Easyway, you showed me just how EASY it really was. I then thought, what else can I achieve in my life I used to think was so hard? As a school drop out, I now run a successful business with my wife, but most importantly, I became an Allen Carr therapist. Over the last two years I have helped hundreds of people quit smoking, and I leave every session elated and feeling as if I have made a difference.
I was lucky enough to have met Allen three years ago in Haxted. During a photo opportunity I was so chuffed to be standing next to him, my manly hug nearly broke his shoulder! Although we have lost a great man, I know his legacy will continue for many generations to come. Allen, I will miss you and thank you for showing me the way.
Suresh Shottam, Newly Appointed Therapist, Allen Carr’s Easyway India
Hello Joyce,
Even though you don’t know me, I felt compelled to write to you at this very sad moment.
I have been a fan of Allen’s for more than 15 years and can boast of having read most of his books.
He was one of those rare people whose impact on me was instant and total.
I have just become an Allen Carr therapist in India.
Allen has a special place in my heart…always.
His healthy irreverence to mainstream illogic and the clarity of his own logic endeared him to me like I can never describe.
I (and the addicts of the world at large) shall surely miss him.
I do hope I get to have the pleasure of meeting you sometime soon, so I can see the lady who inspired the genius.
With all my love, prayers and best wishes to you and the rest of the family,
From : Francesca, Allen Carr’s Easyway Italia
Dear Joyce,
Please accept my deepest and most felt condolences.
I was on the train from Milan to Turin to hold a Seminar when Sue called to inform me. Despite the fact that I had spoken to John on Monday and he mentioned how poorly he was one always hope/pray and when it happens it is always too soon. I was very very upset (and still am and I will be). Somebody on the train saw me crying and asked if I was okay. I told him that somebody who saved my life and millions of other peoples’ lives had just died. He said “I am sorry to hear it”. When I told him what it was all about he said ” Then the show must go on” and, despite the great sadness I felt the Seminar went on and Allen was just sitting next to me. And he will be sitting nect to me today here in Milan, and tomorrow in Padoa, and Monday in Rome, and…and…
Dear Joyce that I still see you in August 1988 when you opened your house to let me walk in for my seminar, but in fact you let me in what turned out to be my new life.
You do not need me to tell you what a wonderful man Allen was. He changed with your continuous love and support the lives of millions of people, mine as well and for this I will always be eternally grateful. I just know that the determination to help other people to free themselves from this slavery is stronger than ever.
My thoughts and love are with you, Mady and your family. And together with me is all the office in Milan. And whoever in Italy have met Allen, known him through the books or the Seminars today is very sad indeed.
Condolences from us all, Francesca, Alessandra, Stefano, Lorenzo, Ivana, Elisabetta, Stefania.
Kind Regards and a special thought to John and Robin. Thank you again Allen.
Francesca.

Here is our appreciation to a great soul:
Allen you will ALWAYS live in our hearts…
Like you will always live in the hearts of at least 10 million lucky human beings, to whom you gave the great gift of enjoying life longer…
Every man dies,
But not every man really lives…
From : Nathalie Alduc, Easyway Scotland
Dear Joyce and Family,
Words cannot appropriately express how saddened I was to learn of Allen’s passsing.
Although I have never smoked, Allen and his genius have had a profound effect on my life. I will always remember how spellbound I was during the first session I attended as part of my training, and shocked to realise that I had believed the same lies as the smokers around me.
In many occasions, when no therapists were available in the office, I was able to help distressed clients and these were the proudest and most rewarding moments of my professional life.
I am proud to be part of a company dedicated to saving lives and I sincerely hope that, like many other great figures, Allen will be given in death the rightful respect and recognition he deserved and was denied during his lifetime.
My thoughts are with you and your family during these tragic times.

Hello to Everyone,
Firstly, I wish to express my heartfelt conddolences to Joyce, Madi and the rest of Allen’s family.
Even though I had the pleasure of meeting Allen face-to-face on only one occasion, at the conference last year, I like many others felt that we knew him well. His words were enough for myself, and many others, to enable us to be saved from ourselves and the dreaded effects of nicotine, and “to be free”.
His achievements over a good part of his life, have been the most valuable achievements that a human can achieve – to give your life to save the life of another.
I am sure, that Allen has accumulated probably more “brownie points” in Heaven than anyone else that comes to mind over the last hundred years or so.
I feel very privileged to continue to spread the word in his quest to cure the World of smoking.
As long as he remains in our hearts, in our thoughts, and as long as his method is continued around the World, then “yet shall he live….”
Regards
Gail Morris

Dear John:
I am very sad with the last news I read only yesterday. At the same time, I feel very proud of Allen, his work and his legate. He changed my life profoundly and I am certain he did the same with millions of other human beings. I know you were very close to him, and his death must have hurt very deeply. I accompany you in these difficult moments.
Dear Robin:
Aside from all, I know you were very close friends with Allen. But the pain and sorrow you are feeling can be as big as he was as a human being. I am thinking in his greatness, his nobility and generosity with his fellow beings. It will always be that way for me. I thank you for giving us the opportunity of being a part of Allen`s Organisation.
Dear Joyce and Family:
I accompany all of you in these moments of sorrow and pain. But I want to tell you I feel privileged for having being touched by him and will always live grateful and in debt with a man of such greatness. Jose.

To Allen Carr´s family, my most sincere condolences to you from this end of the world where Allen´s name will be well known in a few months when I open the clinic.
It is very sad to know that I will not have the opportunity to meet Allen in person like I wanted. It was very exciting to have the idea of meeting such a terriffic man, somebody that I “silently” admired due to the comments on his incredible method somobody published long ago in this country. I attended Easyway Mexico and got to know him much better after becoming another very grateful non smoker and finally got the honour to represent him in Chile. Today, I can say I have gotten to know him in many other ways, more and more each day, and I feel very proud of what I will be doing in a very close future.
Thank you Allen Carr because the way I became part of your organisation has been such a magical experience and I am sure I will be very successful because you will be guiding us from above…..god bless you

I was so very sad to hear the news of Allen’s death.
My heartfelt condolences go out to Joyce, Madi and the rest of Allen’s family, as well as to Robin, John and everyone at Easyway who worked closely with Allen.
I’ve always taken comfort from the thought that when we lose someone we love; we gain an Angel whose name we know. So although we have lost a great man, we have gained a pretty remarkable Angel!
Thank you for setting me free Allen, you were one of a kind. May you rest in peace knowing that your mission will continue through all of us at Easyway.
Deepest Sympathy and wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time,
Heidi

Dear Joyce,
You don´t know me, I never had the pleasure to meet You, but You are very familiar to me because of the many times Allen is referring to You in his books. Speaking about You with this consideration, admiration, gratitude which we find only in a real love relation.
I am sure, You now feel sad and lonely and sometimes You think, that life has gone. I hope and wish You that this sadness soon will change to a feeling of proud and thankfulness for a life on the side of a very important man for mankind, who loved You and who made history, saving millions of lives. In the future his fame will grow more and more and always will be related to You too.
Joyce, we all from Easyway feel with You.
Thank You for all You did for Allen and his work, and please, smile again, You still have a wonderful life.
Yours sincerely
Ingrid
