    Allen,
Firstly thank you having such great insight into one of lifes most confusing mixtures of addiction and brainwashing.
I cannot tell how good it feels to be 32 and a non smoker for the first time in 17 years.
You have made me feel young again.

I will not only hold you in the highest of my esteems, but will try and save others from the worst trap man has ever bestowed upon itself.

To Allen’s family, my deepest sympathy. Can I now take this opportunity to celebrate what this wonderful man has done. ” CHEERS ” to a great man !!

Thank you so much, I had no idea this had happened until just now.

If you ever need another representative in Australia NSW I would be happy to teach this great work to other victims.

Lets hope we can free more people, and show them it doesn’t have to be a life of fear and pain.

There’s not a day goes by when i don’t thank God for Allan. Through his book i was released from the addiction of smoking, after 30 years. I’ve only found out about and finished reading his book on losing weight and feel so inspired and have logged on to tell him. He will live on, through his work and helping us all to get our lives back, through freeing us from our demons – the easy way. thank you Allan.

I like so many others just found out about the loss of this amazing man. I am so very sorry! I too feel like he saved my life and hopefully the lives of everyone I have bought this book for. I only wish I would have heard about it years before I lost my Mother. I will do my best to keep spreading his word and the gift of life he has given to so many. God Bless!

I would like to express my deepest condolences to Allen Carr’s family for their loss.

    I was a smoker for 23 years.

Come next April Fool’s Day (emphasis on the Fool; that particular day was not chosen deliberately, but it was a kind of serendipity) I will have been a non smoker for 10 years. Unfortunately, I was awaiting the 10th anniversary to write to Allen to thank him…

Before I really “got” what he was saying and was still struggling, Allen rang me at home at my request and talked me through the process. I will forever hold that conversation close to my heart.

I am very proud to be another of his success stories.

I am no longer a slave to the cigarette (and the companies that make them) and am grateful every day that I no longer have to smoke.

On my actual 10th anniversary I plan to celebrate in a big way. I intend to buy a very, very nice bottle of Champagne, and to make a most sincere toast to Allen Carr, who probably saved my life, but more importantly, saved my dignity.

    What a man.

    Cathy Wright

I really have high hopes of truely quitting now and think I am in a good mind set to do so. My sincere condolences to the Carr family and their friends. As a Registered Nurse I looked after many clients who were ill due to smoking but I still continued to smoke. I tried many different times to stop and many different ways to stop. Allen’s understanding of and approach to nicotine addiction was ingenious. I don’t doubt that it saved my life.I am now approaching my 7th year without a cigarette.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I have just logged onto the website and i’m gutted that Allen has sadly passed away. My deepest sympathies to all his family, friends and loved ones.

Everybody i know who has read this book, stopped smoking afterwards – i know i will finish it this time – my apologies to Allen for not having the nerve to finish it the first time and thank him while he was still here but i know i will keep telling everyone to go read this book.

Sympathies again to his family, but you must be so proud of such an inspiring man.

First, my deepest sympathy to the Carr family. I just learned of Allen’s passing today as I came to the web to thank him for helping me finally quit smoking. I smoked for 26 years. Today I am one year smoke free. Looking forward to two, and a longer life. I tried everything, and nothing worked, until I heard of “Easy way”. What a concept. It works. Thank you and rest in peace.

I quit smoking 10 years ago today thanks to Allen Carr. Thank-you for the most wonderful sense of freedom! My mother died a few weeks before Allen of symptoms similar to lung cancer though no evidence of cancer was ever found – she had never smoked a cigarette in her life. My sympathies are most sincerely with Allen’s family in their bereavement. It is a slow process.

Goodmorning. I am writing from Ottawa, Canada. It is 1:30 a.m. and thanks to Allen, I just became a non smoker. I just couldn’t wait for the sun to rise before letting him know that he has changed another life. As this is my first time to this site, I had no idea of Allen’s recent condition and I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing. I know words are of little comfort but I want to let you know that Allen and the whole Carr family are in my prayers. I know Allen isn’t gone, he’s just out of sight. He will live on in me and all those he helped; and of course in you, his family. Thanks again Allen and God Bless.

    Hello

I only wish I could have said thank you to Allen whilst he was still here.

Over 16 years ago I read his book and gave up instantly at the end of it. I never had one craving and have never smoked since. It was the best thing I’ve ever done in my life and after trying all sorts of things before to help me give up smoking, Allen’s book was the only thing that worked and for that I am immensely grateful.

I still recommend the book and website to this day and will continue to do so to anyone that needs to quit.

    Thank you so very much.

This past Friday I ended up in the Emergency Room of the hospital I work in, diagnosed with acute bronchitis. I was also told that emphysema was “rearing its ugly head” at me and that it was in my future if I keep going the way I am. This is the disease that my mother died with in August, 2006 in which I found her laying on the floor, her inhaler still clutched in her hand. I truly believe that since this is happening to me so soon after her death that she is sending me a messege. I was just told yesterday of Allen Carr’s book and how it helped two daughters of a friend of mine. I will be in search of a way to get my hands on this book as I am living on a tight budget right now. I AM NOT buying anymore cigarettes and am going to try with everything I have to quit…..this time for good. My sympathy and prayers to his family. I know firsthand what it’s like to lose a loved one since my mother’s death is still so fresh in my memory. God be with you all, and prayers for me as I also fight this demon.

I quit smoking after reading his book, thank you Allen. May you rest in peace. I am so sorry for me too, selfish as it is. You see I have just almost finished the other book on how to control alcohol, I was hoping Allen could help me. You see my beautiful, bright, nice neice of 19yrs is a cronicly additicted to alcohol, her parents are kind nice people who love her so much they are so heartbroken, scared of what she will do next, and very worn out, they have tried everything to help her. Nothng works. She dissappears with no money, ends up in ICU, or the police bringing her home finding her at the side of the street or in a night club etc. Her parents have even tried to lock her up. I am sorry Allen your family have enough to deal with, without our problems,I hope you are at peace. Thank you for the difference you made to my life, I am a non smoker thank you. Allen has done so much to try and demystify hypnosis. Even though he has helped millions through his books and clinics the drug based culture and it’s followers who enjoy a pathetic long term success rate reject his methods.

Quitting smoking for good is tough, even with the help of a nicotine patch. A new study shows only 5% of people who participated in a study of a nicotine patch were still not smoking eight years after the study ended.

British Medical Journal; July 3, 2003.

Time after time these people come up with the following counter argument against hypnosis ‘there is no clinical evidence that hypnosis works’. You may wonder why something that is so obvious is being rejected by the government, the NHS, the medical profession and finally the drug barons. Well Upton Sinclair summed this up very well in his famous quote a 100 years ago.

“It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.”

    Upton Sinclair

For hard pressed hypnotherapists like myself all I can say is ‘Thank you Allen for all that you have done for us’.

I am so sorry to hear about Allen Carr. My condolences to the Carr’s family. In my eyes, Allen is a great man and I’m sure many will speak the same of him. I just started reading Easyway a couple of days ago and I came on to surf the net to find more about Allen. I’m so sorry again to hear about him. Although I just got to know about Allen for a couple of days, I felt that it was a huge loss.

P/s: I will recommend the Easyway to my family and friends. On top of that, as Allen said, to start the avalanche, I will do my part as an ex-smoker to ensure Allen’s legacy lives on. If I come across TV or radio programmes, newspapers articles or any means of media communication advocating other methods to stop smoking but Easyway, I will phone / write to them asking why aren’t they advocating Easyway. I hope every single ex-smoker who successfully quit by Easyway will do the same too.

As someone who has fell into the heinous nicotine trap at the age of 12, I have spent the majority of my adult life battling with my addiction. The EasyWay has been the only method that has been successful in freeing me from that hell. I make no hesitation in stating that I owe my life to Allen Carr and I would like to express my gratitude for his work and dedication in helping smokers all around the world escape the trap. God bless you Mr Carr and my sincere condolences to your family for their loss.

I have not quite managed to get there yet – however, I know that Allen Carr’s method is the right way. My own father gave up smoking and (though he is deceased now) I believe he did it, without knowing, by Allen’s method. In the new year I will give up. I am sure he had so many extra years and lived to a good age because of his method and fabulous madness – which spoke the truth.
    Thank you

It is Christmas Eve and I just finished Dr. Carr’s book (and my last cigarette ever). I could almost see the prison doors open and I could smell the sweet air of freedom. I could actually smell the air, something I haven’t cherished so much in as far back as I can remember.

I felt as though I was guided by an old friend. But I only met this friend three days ago when the EasyWay To Quit Smoking arrived at my door (I ordered it in desparation).

As I got online to read more about my newest friend, I was shocked and saddened to find that Dr. Carr had recently passed away.

In his book, he mentioned that men are conditioned to hold back emotions, and that it is better to let them out. And I did. Tears welled up as I stared at a picture of a man I had never met… the same man that changed the way I view addiction and life as a whole…just hours ago.

This would be about the time that I would look out the window and gear up to go have a smoke. But that desire is dead. I can hardly believe it. But your spirit and inspiration, Dr. Carr, will live on forever. This much I’m sure of.

Thanks for EVERYTHING. You will be missed.

It was with much sadness that I heard the bad news. I shall be forever grateful to Allen . He saved my marriage, put money in my pocket and perhaps he has saved my life. Certainly my life is happier without the addiction. I have a letter from him which I treasure. He was such a nice, caring man. It is so unfair that he had to go so young, and to die from the drug he saved so many from.
I am sure is greatly missed by many .

My wife gave me Allen’s book to read on my 41st birthday 26th October 2006. By page 34, something clicked, I had no desire to smoke anymore, I throw out my 25gm pouch of golden virgina and had never felt better in my entire life. several days later I finished the book and am now reading ‘Scandal’. To that end, and not meaning to upset anyone, i say that Allen must have been guided in his life by a higher force in order to help others stop being manipulated by people.

You see, its not just about giving up smoking or stoping smoking i should say, Its about believing yourself and your own intuition. Listening to yourself always!

Your books have been the most important and compelling I have ever read.

I had prayed for so long that my husband would give up smoking but he never did until he read THE book. He read it from cover to cover over a weekend and stopped smoking! Just like that! He never started again! He had been smoking for 15 years. In the days following he drove everyone around him mad, especially in the advertising agency he was working for at that time. He woke up early, was in a great mood and whistled! He was so full of energy it was almost depressing!
Allen will be missed but his legacy will live on. He has saved and will continue to save many lives. I am so thankful for his gift to mankind.

What can I say? What a man, how many lives has he saved? I have been following the Allen Carr story since I first read his book in 1992 and I find it hard to believe he has been taken by the very thing he fought so hard against. I recommend his method whenever I can and I urge everyone involved to keep up his lifes work.
Again, my sympathy to his family and friends.

My deepest condolences. Allen was a brilliant man who helped so many individuals conquer smoking, including me. I read his book just a short time ago and quit smoking only 2 weeks ago after numerous previous attempts. There was no one in the world who was ever so capable of helping me to see smoking for its true nature and giving me the courage to stop on my own. He will be greatly missed by so many people, however I know that he will continue to help millions more with his book and sessions.

mine and thousands of others lives
a zillion times better, I rejoice in
the sure and certain knowledge that

Allen Carr should be made a saint

Incredible. Life changing. His control alcohol book is an incredible work worth its weight in gold.

It is even more useful than his smoking book, because it deals with a subject that is much harder and more complex because not everybody feels drinking is a bad thing.

Allen Carr succeeded in shifting the reader’s paradigm, a tough job with drinkers.

A true genius, one of a kind, his work will live on for centuries.

Our family was very upset to hear of Allen Carr’s sad passing. I have five children and three of them were heavy smokers, as I was. All four of us (and many of our friends) stopped smoking using Allen Carr’s book and video. We are all firm disciples of his methods, but he also had a personal place in our hearts. I always intended to write and tell him how grateful we were to him, but sadly now it is too late.
Ten years ago I worked for a large health organisation and during my time there I introduced many members of the staff to his book and video. I still get approached by people who say ‘I remember you – you introduced me to Allen Carr and I have never smoked again!’
I think his EasyWay has done more to help smokers than any other method available and he deserves a posthumous knighthood for his work.
Heartfelt sympathy from our family to yours.

For his christmas, i gave him the book “how to quit smoking”. After a while he read the book and stopped smoking. He hasn’t smoked a sigarette since.

When i was 18 i started smoking for a stupid reason. This summer i decided to quit smoking. I’m 25 now.

I also have read his book about losing weight. And like stop smoking, this is very easy if you put your mind to it.

I’m very rateful that he helped my dad and i stop smoking. If he hadn’t written his book, my dad (now 56) might have died yet. In a way he saved me and my dad.

I too have just lost a close relative to the ravages of lung cancer caused by smoking. Her death inspired me to read Allen’s books (Easyway for Women, and the ‘Permanently’ book). Both have been constant sources of “moments of revelation”, and, at a time when alot of people would turn to their little crutch, I have found it very easy to ignore the little monster inside me, trying to invite me to get hooked again.

I hope that Allen’s family will take a great amount of solace in the fact that he helped so many millions of people rid themselves of an evil addiction, and helped them to change their lives forever.

I know that I will forever be in his debt, and, once I have talked the rest of my family into reading his books or attending his clinics, that they will be too.

I know the Good Spirits will be looking after him, and that he is happy wherever he is up there.

Thank you Allen Carr for your help. I’ve learned alot more from you than just the Easyway to stop smoking.

    Best Regards,
    Andy

It is with deep sadness that I have heard of the passing of Allen Carr. I stopped smoking 4 years ago and my sister 5 years ago through reading his wonderful words. I and my family thank you Mr Carr for giving me back my life. I still remember the words my little boy said when he was 4 years old that made me determined to find a way, those words were: Mum you are going to die from smoking and thats so sad cos Im only 4 and I will be alone! That was what made me read the book that my sister had already passed on to me. I feel truly blessed to have been helped through Mr Carrs words and I can only pass on my sympathy and aroha (love) to his family. I have learnt to take the time to be grateful for my blessings and Mr Carr has been certainly been included in my thoughts everyday
