I quit a week ago and a day later decided to get mr. Carr’s book. On all the necessary levels he made me understand what smoking does to a person. Every day I become more understanding of the fantasy of it all, more conscious about all aspects of my life, slowly waking up after twenty years of deep sleep. Mind over body. Will over mind. Thank you. Your work is a blessing to us all. Mr. Carr now resides in the presence of certain very Holy Individuals.
Thanks to Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking I managed to quit some 4 years ago. Now i hardly think about it. I started to feel better almost immediately…i did it whilst on holiday…and everytime i went walking i thought about the fresh air i was breathing into my lungs instead of smoke. I wish all who have recently started on their journey to quit smoking the best. It does work…i recommended this book to my brother who quit and two people at work who also quit…it really is all in the mind. Thankyou!

Allen Carr you are a miracle worker, I was quite saddened to hear you had died after I finished the book. You will be canonized one day for your simple line of thinking that can help ANYONE quit smoking without even noticing withdrawal. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift, and to anyone skeptical, please don’t be because this is the real deal and it WILL work for you too.

Yes, it works!
I smoked heavily (50-100 a day) for 34 years and was convinced that quitting would be impossible for someone like me. Smoking was part of my identity; a pose of rebellious independence which probably fooled only me. It was, I see now, a cover for the deep shame I felt at being enslaved by a stupid useless drug which was sapping my finances, ruining my health and leaving me stinky, tense and increasingly uncomfortable; over time a growing “need” for nicotine was increasingly frustrated by there being fewer and fewer places where one was allowed to smoke. What a trap! Despite this, for many years I clung to the delusion that cigarettes were my best friend, even after they had killed my father. Someone gave me Allen Carr’s book and when I read that he had once been as heavy a smoker as me but had got free of it I was willing to listen. As I write (May 2010) I’m 52 and smoke-free since August 2008. I feel so immensely grateful to this system that I regularly buy extra copies to pass on to friends. So as not to be an annoying evangelizing reformed smoker I tell them, ‘Hey no pressure, just put it in your bookshelf until you’re ready.’ But if you are considering the possibility of getting off the ‘mouse-wheel’ of nicotine addiction I’d say, don’t waste any more time. Do it! You’ll be so glad you did!
After trying several times to quit smoking, i could without any suffering. thank you very much. I read the book. I’m from Santiago, Chile. (Luego de intentarlo muchas veces lo logré sin sufrir. Fumaba más de 1 cajetilla diaria)
Lo dejé el 5 de Mayo de 2010 =)!!!

I have smoked for 10 years almost a pack a day. On january the 20th 2009 I quit smoking for good. One year later my husband decided to read the book and the miracle happened to him too.
Thank you so much for telling us the right words that make the change.
I ‘VE SMOKED FOR 30 YEARS ABOUT A PACK A DAY. READ ALLAN CARR’S BOOK 8 YEARS AGO, I QUIT SMOKING ALMOST IMMIDEATLY AND I HAVE NOT SMOKED SINCE.
IT WORKS 100%
THANK YOU FOR MY NEWFOUND FREEDOM MR. CARR
I am so glad that I quit smoking :)
It was the best decision of my life and I owe it all to Allen and his method. I bought the book for my brother in hopes that he will see how easy it really is!!
Спасибо за то что Вы есть!
Thank`s for you are!
I put my last cigarette out one cold winter’s evening in 1994, about two thirds the way through Mr Carr’s book, The Only Way to Quit Smoking. Haven’t touched a cigarette since.
Coming up to a year since my last cigarette, the concept of smoking is so alien to me now just the idea that I used to do it shocks me.
I wish every smoker could put out their last cigarette and I wish this planet was free of this terrible addiction. thankyou Mr Carr for showing me the way out.
For those just starting down the path do not give in to that little voice…it will go quiet soon enough :)

I have just extinguished my final cigarette.
This time there is nothing to succeed as i am no longer a (stinking) smoker!
throughout easyway, it always felt like you knew the exact moments where i “needed” a cigarette :)
due to smoking i have/had : Asthma,Bronchitis, and tons of other respitory problems (mnemonia’s used to hit me quite alot)
i hope i did not cause myself other things i dont know of!
thank you Mr Carr.
I smoked my last cigarette 2 and a half weeks ago and I can’t believe the miracle. I have tried on numerous occassions to stop smoking using nicotine patches, inhalers and lozenges etc but I was miserable. I knew will power didn’t work either and thought I was doomed to a life of being ruled by nicotine. I was already suffering from some of the physical effects of smoking with a permanent chesty cough and watching my grandmother gasping for breath with emphysema couldn’t make me quit either. Then my brother-in-law told me he had quit by reading the Easyway. I had nothing to lose so I ordered a copy and I haven’t looked back. I know it may be early days but I already feel like a happy non smoker. I am free at last. Thank you Allen Carr, your legend will live on.

I attended a clinic in Leicester with Rob back in July 2008 and I have not smoked since. Having been a heavy smoker for 19 years and having tried every other way of giving up smoking and failed I attended feeling as though this was mu last chance to give up but severely doubting that the allen carr method would work for me. I was totally wrong!! I cant really explain why it worked and I actually don’t care. If you are reading this and still thinking about it I would urge you to give it a go as you have nothing to lose and I can promise you that it worked for me. Thanks so much to Rob I know it sounds over dramatic but you really did change my life. When I see people smoking now I have to stop myself from going over and saying you know you really dont need to do that and its so easy to give up (without any withdrawal symptoms)
I recently cenebrated my 1 year anniversary of no smoking and just wanted to say a massive thank you!
My experience was only ever positive. I cannot explain how much my life has changed since I took the step to change it. I was on 20 a day for 12 years and as you say, I always thought Id give up soon, but never managed it before last year. it was amazing. The whole day was brilliant and I left elated to be free of the chain.
I celebrated each month with a pat on the back until I even stopped remembering Id stopped. It just seems so normal now when for years, smoking was normal.
My friends are still in awe as they knew how much I smoked and proclaimed to love it. I sing your praises and have recommmended you to many.
I am so happy and have been ever since. It is amazing the change.
Thank you so much, each and every day. You changed my life and gave it back to me.
This was the best thing I ever did.

I would just like to thank Allen Carr for his method and for dedicating the rest of his life to helping smokers and sharing this method. I am 23 and have smoked about 20 cigarettes day since I was 15. The lowest point of my smoking life was without a doubt not being able to quit when I was pregnant… I cut down and justified it every which way I could think of, but still felt judged (rightly so) and like a leper. That was 3 years ago and since then I knew that I was in fact a prisoner and not in control of smoking! A friend of mine at Tafe mentioned your book ‘The only way to stop smoking permanently’, I bought it that day and read it. I smoked my final cigarette when you said and have been a non smoker now for two weeks! I am so unbelievably happy and free! Most of my smoking friends think I’m hiding something or pretending when I say I don’t care if they smoke in front of me..and others openly admit their jealousy for me but still don’t go out and buy the book??! My mum and my stepdad are heavy smokers and HATE smoking, they are ill from it and my stepdad coughs his lungs up every morning from it, he has read easyway a few years ago but didn’t stop. They are both now reading ‘the only way to stop smoking permanently’, and are confident that they can be free. THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU ALLEN CARR!!!! I am already spreading the word of your method and trying to help free others!

I just finished reading “Stop smoking now, without gaining weight” and I cant believe how great I feel. When I have tried to quit in past I would dread social events involving drinks and seeing my smoking friends, however this time using the easy way- I couldnt wait until my next social event, it fuels the elevated feeling you have when you quit as instead of envying your friends, you are pitying them! I have smoked for 10 years, and had many unsucessful attempts at stop, but this time I know I am a non-smoker, and will be for the rest of my life. Jodi, Jersey, Channel Islands, 24.
I owe Allen Carr and those who practice his methods a huge thank-you. As a result of those methods I have stopped both smoking and drinking. Has my life suffered because I now do neither? Not at all! I smoked, now I have cleaner lungs and heart. I drank, now I have a mended liver. And I have so much more energy than I used to. It’s actually a pleasure to get up in the morning – without feeling so fatigued or rough! It may sound unbelievable to some, but I do not miss either a cigarette or a drink. As I said to Chris, who takes some of the clinics, after I attended the session on quitting smoking it was like a psychological tumour had been lifted from my head. Yes, in the beginning it may take a little commitment to begin new habits without a drink or a cigarette, but life is not empty without them. It becomes fuller. They say that true friends are those who help you out in life – in that case those at Allen Carr are true friends. I would recommend anyone who is even half-thinking of quitting alcohol or cigarettes to go along. I promise you won’t regret it, and you have everything to gain.
hi i gave up smoking 6 months ago at the quinton-birmingham clinic, i havent looked back despite a very stressful job where a lot of people smoke, its amazing how easy it is, thanks – Wendy

I have not looked back. It has now been 1 Yr and it was really Easy. I have passed the book to my relatives now. Thank you so much for making it so easy to change my life I feel like I had a second chance to say No to smoking! Thank You
I cant believe how easy it has been to not smoke since reading Allen Carr’s book. Have not smoked for over 2 weeks now and it feels brilliant to be smoke free and be confident that I will never smoke again.
I read the book a few years ago and quit straight away, freed from the weed, but like many others one night whilst a little drunk I sparked up so thought I might aswell finish it as I didn’t enjoy it I’d never have another! WRONG!!!!!!the message obviously hadn’t sunk in as I was soon back onto 10 To 15 a day for a further 5 or 6 years!! :0(
After having broken my leg at the end of 2008 in a skydiving accident I sat on my bum Depressed for almost a year and smoked lots as a result of boredom! Practically healed and skydiving again I realised just how bad that had affected me (I had smoked alot more in a day whilst having a broken leg than normal) also my partner has lost a lot of weight whilst working abroad, it inspired me to do the same! The first step was to stop smoking!
It’s only been a week but it’s worked!
If I’m honest I’d read the book a couple of times and I get bored really quick so I decided to by the DVD from one of the clinics near me! Best £15 I’ve spent!
I’ve had the odd ‘craving’ but I know it’s the little monster in me which makes me smile rather want to bite the head off the next person that spoke to me!
RIP Allan carr you truly are a genious and I thank you for all that you did and all you’ve done on passing this wonderful knowledge so others can pass it on!!!
If only the government would acknowledge it completly and provide even just the book or DVD on the Nhs instead if costing all tax payers a fortune with nicotine replacement therapy!
A smoke free and very happy 26yr old!!!
I bought the book four years ago and finally got around to reading it. I’m happy to say that as I finished the book, I had the last cigarette I will ever have in my life. What a joy!
Hello, im 25y old, from Russia. Sorry for my language.
First read you book about 3 years ago. I tried quit with book 3 times. Third time was last and i quit. Other 2 times not worked because i didnt fully realize that “just one cigarette”. To understand it i read your book again. 3 times i read and last reading give me needed effect.
Later, after 3 years of nonsmoking there was a horrable situation and i give up. I started smoking again. I smoked over 1 year.
And now im QUIT! This day. 14-05-2010. I decided to quit by wach the “Easy Way” DVD.
Thank you very much for all what you doing, it realy helps!
Thank you for my FREEDOM!
I did it!!!! Thank you Allen, Easy Way is the only possible way to do it :) I´m freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and happy!!
ps. Why don´t we have Easyway Clinic here in Finland?? How about me starting one?
I posted a message after a few months of quitting with the EasyWay, and I just wanted to drop another one now and say that it has been over 15 months since I have touched any nicotine at all.
I still think about the EasyWay all the time, and tell people about it all the time, and I will never stop being grateful for it!!!!
Thanks again to everyone at EasyWay.
I smoked a pack a day…stopped completely half way through the book, its been great, i will never smoke again…and it has been super easy
Hi, i like to thank my eternal friend, Allen Carr. A few years ago i easily quit smoking. And now 2 weeks ago i am freed from alcohol destruction and i feel great.
I thank all of Allens family and friends and councelours: Keep up the good work and hold your spirits high, keep on fighting and never give up!!!
And now with renewed strength and confidence, i’m off kayaking!!!!

Read your book 3 weeks ago and stopped smoking since I finished reading. Thanks.
A smoker from ages 16-24 (damn did i work hard to get addicted to those filthy things :-) I read the book 6 years ago and, like many others, naively thought I had it licked….6 months later I was back on them…
Read it a second time and this time the message seemed to register. Was a non-smoker for 4 wonderful years. Stupidly I lit one about 14 months ago due to personal trauma and was hooked again, until 4 days ago. Third time reading the book and its like the message has finally, finally hit home. I know now that i wont ever smoke again and I feel like crying with joy because of it.
Allen is right, stress is not relieved by it, contentment is not enhanced by it…
Thank you to Allen (RIP) and all the staff that spread the Easyway message. Its a stunningly simple but such an effective message, and I feel like my life will be so much better because of it. I’ve bought copies before for several friends&family members and i’m sad to see them languishing on bookshelves. Perhaps my own lapses made them feel it wouldnt work but hopefully once they see me not going back they’ll give it a shot
Good luck everyone who has kicked the evil weed, remember there iS NO SUCH THING AS ONE CIGARETTE!! Enjoy your smoke-free lives, take deep breaths of wonderful air, climb hills, have energtic sex, revel in your now glowing skin and brightened eyes, never never doubt the decision. I am free, halleluja!!
Terri – Dublin.
Hello, all.. i have wrote in here a few months ago. but i just want you all to know. two days ago was a celebration of my birthday, and A YEAR WITHOUT SMOKING! :D
Thanks Allen Carr, your methods works. and without any withdrawals whatsoever. i can still hang out with my friends who smoke, without even wanting to smoke. and most of all.. i feel healthier.
Hi, Just wanted to say that I read the book and have not smoked since, which is about 9 months now. I think it was really a sensible rhetorical argument against the absurdity of a bad habit.
All of my friends still smoke around me but it doesn’t make me want to smoke in any meaningful way.
I’d be happy to elaborate on the experience if anyone is interested.

I first read The Easyway To Stop Smoking about 10 years ago, and successfully stopped for 5 years. Stupidly, I had just ‘one’ cigarette. IT DOES NOT EXIST!!! I continued smoking for another 5 years and decided to book an appointment at The Raynes Park Clinic. That was over a month ago, and I can’t even begin to desribe the feeling of not having to stick those awful things into my mouth again! I knew when I re started smoking that I had nothing to gain from it, but regardless it still took me another 5 years to pluck up the courage to attend.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all involved and would lke to say to anyone thinking about stopping smoking, just do it, YOU HAVE ABSOLUTLY NOTHING TO LOSE, BUT EVERYTHING TO GAIN!
Poco a poco volví a fumar.
En tres años no he vuelto a sentir ningún deseo. Asisto a reuniones donde mucha gente fuma. Amigas han olvidado cigarrillos en mi casa, y permanecen sin tocar hasta que los devuelvo.
¿Es que alguna vez fumé?
Thankyou very much.
My English is not sufficiently good, which is the reason why I write in Castilian. I am Elena Giampieri, of Cordova, Argentina. I smoked daily (40 cigarettes) for 35 years. I never tried to stop smoking nor to cut down the amount. I bought the book in March of 2005, I began the reading. I knew that it could make me stop smoking and I was scared. I left the reading for better moment. I accommodated a pair of things, I chose the summer of 2005-06 and I returned to begin the reading. I read the book concientiously, in a month and a half. I stopped smoking during two months, it surprised me. Little by little I returned to smoke. I considered that I needed more mental work but I had the security that it was possible to turn me into one nonsmoker. I allowed myself to smoke for another year. The following summer I returned to begin the book. I read again but slower. The noticeable passages helped much. The 9 of April of 2007 to midnight I extinguished the last cigarette. In three years I have not returned to feel any desire. I attend meetings where much people smoke. Friends have forgotten cigarettes and left in my house, and I don’t need to touch – I just give back to them. It feels like i never smoked?
Thankyou very much.
I just wanted to say that I read the book and I have quit smoking (but I doubt you’re surprised!), I just didn’t realize that Allen had died, I am so sad about this, he saved my life!

Four out of six members of my father’s family died of lung cancer or emphysema caused by smoking-related illnesses – one at 42 years old!
It has been 22 years since Allen helped me to quit cigarettes and saved me from the same fate. God bless Allen Carr – gone but not forgotten.
I’m 48 and have been smoking since I was 15 years old. My 40 year old brother gave me a copy of Allens book about 3 months ago – his wife went out and got 2. I finally started reading it about 2 weeks ago. I could hardly wait to finish the book so I could quit. Had my last smoke 6 days ago. I didnt tell my brother I had quit and went to his place on the weekend to drank some beer. He couldnt believe it and is taking his copy of The Easyway with him to work this week. I know I’m not out of the woods yet but I can honestly say I have no desire to light up.
I was your classic “ but I like to smoke” and “ nobodys going to tell me to quit” kind of guy. I can now face the facts that I detested it for a long time.
Thanks for saving me Allen RIP
I read your book ten years ago and have not looked back since. I have told numerous people about it but lots seem scepticle about how easy it was. The worst offender for this is my husband. He needs to stop smoking for dreadful health reasons but still continues.
I stopped smoking on 15th of this month (Apr), 11 days ago. I have no craving whatsoever…the monsters are dead.
I started and finished the book on 15th. Took me like 2 hours to read and to ‘get it’.
Thank You Thank you Thank You, I can not say that enough times!! I have gone from 20 a day after smoking for 23 years to 0!! and it really is the Easyway and the Onlyway! tell your friends, tell your family! I only wish the Allen were still around so I could shake his hand and thank him personally.

I would like to thank Allen Carr and everyone involved in the EasyWay system for helping me quit smoking. I read the most recent version of the book and by pg 15 I was done. Just like that.
At a pack a day for 20 years and the mentality of “Why quit? I enjoy smoking…” 15 pages made me realize that I was only comfortable with it ( suffocating myself slowly) and that I didn’t get any enjoyment out of it.
Its not about why you should quit, but why you choose to smoke. Simple as that.
Thank you so much for giving me and my family so many more enjoyable days together – jogging every day, riding my bike to work, eating healthier (yes, food tastes WAY better when you don’t smoke) and playing harder and longer with my 3 boys than I ever could before.

I read the book once and it made perfect sense. I continued to smoke and tried unsuccessfully to quit several to a dozen times afterward- I then read the book again. This time I believe that I was ready for the message. I don’t want to be cocky- but you know what?, I had my last cigarette and that one when I lit it – it was so incredibly alien to me! Like I had never done it before – I felt the same reaction when I someone light up the next day! No withdrawals at all.
